TNI-Polri Solidarity: Public Must Express Their Aspirations Wisely

Jakarta – The solidarity of the TNI and Polri is the main shield against attempts to divide and divide the nation. Both security institutions have expressed their commitment to maintaining national security, order, and stability.

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto stated that synergy between the TNI and Polri is a crucial foundation for maintaining national stability.

“We, along with the Polri, will always be at the forefront of protecting the people from provocations and attempts to disrupt peace,” he emphasized.

Echoing this sentiment, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo also reaffirmed the Polri’s commitment to maintaining solidarity with the TNI in the field, while also establishing strategic coordination.

“This solidarity is not just slogans, but a real commitment. We will handle any threat to public stability together. We also urge the public to remain vigilant against misleading information that could trigger unrest,” he said.

In addition, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) also guarantee freedom of expression as long as it is expressed politely and wisely. The Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Brigadier General Ade Ary Syam Indradi, stated that freedom of expression in public remains guaranteed and respected as long as it is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.

“Those expressing their opinions are our brothers, our younger brothers, even our children. Their safety is guaranteed,” Ade said.

He also touched on the arrests made during the recent riots. Authorities did not target protesters, but rather anarchists who violated the law.

“Those we arrested and prosecuted were not protesters. Those we prosecuted were rioters, vandals, arsonists, and those disturbing public order,” he explained.

Furthermore, he said, officers in the field had taken preemptive measures to prevent disturbances to public order and security. He also reminded the public to be wise in using social media and expressing their aspirations.

“We urge everyone to be wise in using social media. Feel free to express your concerns; that’s a citizen’s right, but let’s maintain order together,” he stressed.
