Jakarta – This year’s Youth Pledge Day commemoration once again served as a crucial opportunity to strengthen the spirit of unity amidst the challenges of the digital era. In various regions, celebrations proceeded safely and with a sense of community, thanks to the synergy between security forces and active community participation.

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Pratikno, assessed that this conducive situation reflects the nation’s maturity in facing increasingly complex social dynamics. He believes that the struggle of today’s youth is no longer about physical struggle, but about safeguarding national unity from the threat of misleading information.

“The spirit of today’s Youth Pledge is no longer about physical struggle, but rather about maintaining national unity amidst the rapid flow of information. Our challenge now is to counter disinformation and provocation that can divide,” said Pratikno.

He also emphasized the importance of the role of the younger generation in strengthening social resilience through increasing digital literacy and responsible use of social media.

Similarly, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the contributions of the community and young people in maintaining security during the commemoration. He emphasized that the success of creating a conducive national atmosphere is inseparable from cooperation across all elements of the nation.

“National stability cannot be achieved by the authorities alone. This is the result of collaborative work between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and all elements of society,” he said.

The National Police Chief also reminded the public of the importance of vigilance against provocations in the digital space that could disrupt national unity.

“Guard the digital space from fake news and hatred. Don’t give space to parties who want to divide national unity,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto emphasized that collaboration between the TNI and Polri will continue to be strengthened in maintaining national stability, especially during national moments such as the Youth Pledge.

“Together with the National Police, we ensure that the Youth Pledge celebrations run safely, peacefully, and in a spirit of brotherhood. This synergy is concrete evidence that national security is born from mutual cooperation between the people and the authorities,” he said.

From an academic perspective, Dr. H. Darsono, M.Si., Head of the Master of Political Science Study Program at Wijaya Kusuma University, Surabaya, assessed that the orderly and peaceful commemoration conditions are a reflection of the maturity of the people in their nation and state.

“Young people are now beginning to understand the importance of digital nationalism, namely the spirit of friendship manifested through literacy, collaboration, and media ethics,” he said.

The spirit of collaboration and vigilance against provocation demonstrated by communities from Sabang to Merauke demonstrates that the values of the 1928 Youth Pledge remain alive in a form that is relevant to the times. Through the synergy between the community, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), Indonesia demonstrates itself as a strong, mature nation, ready to face global challenges without losing its identity and unity.
