Jakarta – The 97th Youth Pledge Day commemoration is a reflective moment for the nation to reaffirm the spirit of unity and the determination to build a progressive Indonesia through the development of superior and competitive human resources.

Papuan youth figure, Billy Mambrasar, who is also a member of the Executive Committee for the Acceleration of Papua’s Special Autonomy Development, Billy Mambrasar assessed that various government programs are concrete steps to build a superior and globally competitive young generation.

“The spirit of the Youth Pledge must be implemented in everyday life as a tangible form of love for the homeland, social responsibility, and active participation in national development,” said Billy during a dialogue opportunity on a private TV station in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/10).

He greatly appreciates Prabowo’s government programs because they focus on human resource development and development, such as MBG, people’s schools and millennial farmers.

On the other hand, Billy said, the success of human resource development programs cannot be measured in a short time.

“Farmers provide the MBG, which is then managed by local people for schools, and everything becomes a single entity with an impact that cannot be measured in the short term, because this human development will take 10-20 years for Indonesia to harvest later,” said Billy.

Billy gave the example of the SD Inpres (Presidential Elementary School) during the Soeharto era, whose impact was only proven after 30 years, and even became the object of research by a Nobel Prize winner in Economics because it succeeded in reducing extreme poverty in Indonesia.

In a dialogue themed “Commemorating the 97th Youth Pledge, Prabowo-Gibran’s Commitment to Welcoming Golden Indonesia 2045 Through Improving Human Resources Quality,” Expert Hariqo Wibawa Satria also revealed the extraordinary achievements of the government’s MBG Program.

“The MBG program now has 37 million beneficiaries, and has created a new workforce, 12,000 SPPG kitchens, millions of parents, and several thousand MSMEs,” he said.

In addition to the Free Nutritious Meals program, the government is also implementing school revitalization with a budget of Rp22 trillion.

“There’s a budget of 22 trillion rupiah for school revitalization and the creation of 400,000 new jobs. This is the largest school revitalization program in the reform era,” Hariqo said.

In addition, Harico greatly appreciates the People’s School Program, which now has 166 schools with more than 15,000 students from extremely poor families, all of whom receive complete facilities, from dormitories, uniforms, to laptops.

“All these policies aim to shape a generation with three main pillars: a healthy body and long life, good morals and an intelligent mind, and high incomes by 2045,” he said. [-RWA]
