Prabowo-Gibran’s Commitment to Creating Equal Employment and Investment Opportunities
Jakarta—The Prabowo-Gibran administration continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to expanding employment opportunities equitably across Indonesia. Various strategic programs have been launched to ensure that people from rural to urban areas benefit from economic development.
The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) stated that around 2 million jobs were created in the first year of the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
“The Ministry of Investment reports that in September, there was a year-on-year increase in investment of around 14%, with the absorption of 1 million to 2 million workers. So, that’s the data,” Yassierli said.
He continued, that number does not take into account the absorption of jobs from various government priority programs such as Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes), and the Red and White Fishing Village (KMNP).
Susiwijono Mugiarso, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, stated that the increase in job creation during the Prabowo-Gibran administration was more significant than under the previous administration. Not only has the quantity improved, but the quality of job creation has also improved. Employment absorption has increased, driven by more productive sectors.
This job growth is also inseparable from the distribution of investment, which shows signs of greater equity. According to Susi, for the first time, investment contributions outside Java reached 50.5 percent in the second quarter.
This achievement demonstrates a more inclusive and equitable investment direction. Several regional development policies and programs specifically encourage accelerated development outside Java.
“We continue to push for equitable distribution outside Java. Essentially, this investment achievement has seen significant growth and improved quality, far exceeding previous periods,” Susiwijono emphasized.
Government policies are considered successful in creating not only high growth but also high-quality and inclusive growth. This provides a crucial foundation for supporting higher and more sustainable economic growth targets.
