The government has once again demonstrated strong readiness and leadership in maintaining national energy stability by ensuring a secure fuel supply ahead of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays. Each Christmas and New Year period is a crucial period that demands meticulous planning and a robust energy distribution system. This year, the government is more prepared through anticipatory strategies, solid cross-agency coordination, and strengthened Pertamina Group operations. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadahlia emphasized that national fuel stock security has been maintained at an optimal level, equivalent to 18 to 21 days of supply specifically to address increased year-end demand. This measure reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that people can carry out their activities, travel, and vacation safely and comfortably without worrying about energy security.

The government’s strengthening of supply has had a direct positive impact on the community. Pertamina Patra Niaga, as the assigned business entity, is increasing the supply of various types of fuel through two main channels: increasing domestic refinery production and measured imports to strengthen national stockpiles. Pertamina Patra Niaga President Director Ega Legowo Putra confirmed that Pertamax Turbo and Pertalite are the products whose distribution has been most strengthened, given the high public demand for these two types of fuel. The increase in Pertalite supply reached over one million kiloliters, placing the stockpiles in the very secure category. With planned supply management based on consumption forecasts, Pertamina demonstrates managerial capabilities aligned with government directives to ensure the smooth flow of national energy needs.

In addition to fuel, the government is also ensuring the availability of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) is in prime condition through intensive monitoring across all regions. Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot Tanjung explained that LPG reserves have been secured through a series of measures to strengthen stocks and increase preparedness for potential increases in demand. He commended Pertamina Patra Niaga’s readiness to continue strengthening supply and maintaining optimal service. According to him, strengthening stocks, managing distribution, and preparing for extreme weather are crucial elements in maintaining public comfort during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Multi-layered government monitoring demonstrates serious attention to household and transportation energy needs, while ensuring that people can enjoy the holidays with peace of mind.

The Head of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas), Wahyudi Anas, emphasized that the entire fuel distribution system has been well-planned, including mapping areas projected to experience increased consumption. BPH Migas data shows that the Pertalite and subsidized diesel fuel quotas are secure throughout the year, with national reserves able to be flexibly diverted to support specific regions based on consumption dynamics. With national stock security reaching more than 20 days as of November 23, 2025, the government has demonstrated its ability to maintain energy stability through careful planning and intensive coordination with assigned business entities. This confirms that the national energy supply is on track, especially in facing peak public mobility.

Regarding refinery operations, the Pertamina International Refinery (KPI) ensures that all processing facilities continue to operate reliably throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays. Acting Head of the Pertamina International Refinery (KPI) KPI Corporate Secretary, Milla Suciyani, stated that the refinery will work fully to maintain production continuity and ensure timely energy distribution to all regions. KPI, through the Energy Distribution Control and Monitoring Task Force, which has been in place since late November, carries out a strategic function in ensuring a secure national fuel supply. The implementation of high operating standards and comprehensive supervision demonstrates KPI’s readiness to face peak energy demand without interruption.

At key distribution points such as the Plumpang Integrated Terminal, the government and Pertamina ensure that all infrastructure is supported by a stronger risk mitigation system. Pertamina Logistics Director Jaffee Arizon Suardin stated that this terminal has been strengthened with a buffer recovery unit and personnel readiness to maintain product quality and smooth distribution. With supplies flowing through pipelines from the Balongan and Cilacap refineries, the fuel distribution system to urban areas remains secure and stable. Plumpang’s readiness as a strategic node for national energy distribution demonstrates the government’s commitment to strengthening the reliability of fuel logistics ahead of the long holiday.

The government alsoEnsure that supply reinforcements are not only focused on urban areas, but also reach remote areas such as Mentawai and the Seribu Islands. Pertamina has added modular storage facilities, strengthened the readiness of tanker crews, and prepared reserve personnel to ensure smooth distribution to remote areas. These efforts reflect an inclusive energy policy, ensuring that all citizens can enjoy equal access to energy during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, through Spokesperson Dwi Anggia, confirmed that all fuel distribution preparations are ready, not only for Christmas and New Year but also for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, which fall close together the following year. The government is prioritizing a sustainable strategy to maintain energy supplies, providing peace of mind for the public to carry out their activities throughout early 2026.

With a series of supply reinforcements, cross-agency coordination, improved distribution service quality, and the government and Pertamina Group’s commitment to maintaining national energy security, the public can enter the Christmas and New Year holidays with confidence. The government ensures that fuel and LPG supplies remain safe, stable, and of high quality, demonstrating that national energy management is increasingly solid to support public comfort. During the annual peak mobility period, the success of maintaining energy stocks is clear evidence that the government is committed to providing the best for the needs of the wider community.
