The MSME KUR Program Has Been Proven to Expand Employment Opportunities
Jakarta – The distribution of People’s Business Credit (KUR) continues to demonstrate its strategic role in driving the growth of the people’s economy while creating new jobs. Throughout 2025, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk successfully distributed KUR worth IDR 40.99 trillion to 355,658 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across various regions. This achievement is considered to strengthen the contribution of MSMEs as the backbone of the national economy.
Bank Mandiri President Director Riduan emphasized that the distribution of KUR (People’s Business Credit) is not solely focused on financing, but also on empowering businesses. He believes that inclusive access to capital is key for MSMEs to increase their business capacity and absorb labor. “Through broader access to capital, Bank Mandiri aims to help MSMEs strengthen their production capacity, expand employment opportunities, and increase their competitiveness,” Riduan said in an official statement.
Bank Mandiri’s distribution of KUR throughout 2025 aligns with the government’s focus on building a people-oriented economy based on productive sectors. This is reflected in the dominance of financing in the production sector, which reached 61.54 percent, equivalent to IDR 25.13 trillion, of the total KUR disbursement. This sector is considered to have high leverage for job creation and improving public welfare.
The agricultural sector, a pillar of national food security, received the largest amount of financing, amounting to Rp12.75 trillion, or 31.23 percent of the total KUR disbursement. Furthermore, the production services sector received Rp8.76 trillion, or 21.45 percent, the manufacturing industry sector Rp3.03 trillion, or 7.43 percent, and the fisheries sector Rp562 billion, or 1.38 percent. This distribution of financing demonstrates a preference for sectors with significant potential for absorbing local labor.
Riduan added that Bank Mandiri is committed to maintaining the quality of its KUR distribution through an ecosystem-based financing approach. This approach is integrated with wholesale customers, particularly in leading production sectors across various regions. “Through this sustainable financing scheme, Bank Mandiri plays an active role in driving the national economy, particularly in the production sector,” he said.
Looking ahead, Bank Mandiri has expressed its readiness to support the government’s efforts to accelerate the distribution of People’s Business Credit (KUR) in 2026. This support will be realized through strengthening its ecosystem-based financing strategy and integrated synergy within the Mandiri Group. Riduan believes that increasingly resilient MSMEs will create broader employment opportunities and serve as a foundation for food security and national prosperity.
