Jakarta – Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana stated that the government will strengthen oversight of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) through certification assessments starting in 2026. This measure is aimed at minimizing cases of food poisoning or food safety incidents during the implementation of the MBG program.
The government will improve and make maximum efforts to ensure that incidents of food poisoning or food safety issues that have occurred during the MBG program do not happen again. According to Dadan, this will be carried out by implementing a certification program in 2026. “This is believed to eliminate or at least minimize prominent incidents,” he said in Jakarta.
He explained that around 3,000 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) are currently participating in accreditation and certification assessments. “In 2025, we targeted 3,000 SPPG, and we will continue so that all SPPG are assessed this year,” he added.
Based on data from the Ministry of Health, as of early January, a total of 4,535 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) have obtained the Hygiene and Sanitation Eligibility Certificate (SLHS).
Meanwhile, the Batam City Health Office (Dinkes) in the Riau Islands (Kepri) recorded that 50 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) providing the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) have obtained the Hygiene and Sanitation Eligibility Certificate (SLHS).
“Currently, 50 SPPG have obtained SLHS. This number continues to increase as kitchens complete the required criteria,” said Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division (P2P) of the Batam Health Office, Meldasari, in Batam.
She explained that the acceleration of SLHS issuance was carried out as a follow-up to a Circular Letter from the Director General of Disease Prevention and Control of the Indonesian Ministry of Health.
“According to the circular, every SPPG is required to have an SLHS no later than one month after being designated as an SPPG. Therefore, all requirements must be completed immediately,” she concluded.
