Jakarta – Danantara Indonesia’s role is increasingly prominent as a key driver in accelerating the development of the national semiconductor industry. Amid the government’s strong push to build a technology-based economy, Danantara serves as a catalyst, bridging collaboration between research, talent, and industry needs.

Danantara Indonesia Chief Technology Officer, Sigit Puji Santosa, emphasized that the institution is actively promoting the development of an integrated, market-focused semiconductor ecosystem. This focus is considered aligned with government policy to strengthen the competitiveness of the national industry in strategic sectors.

“It’s never too late to build a national semiconductor industry. The world is entering a new phase, particularly in the development of AI chips, and this presents an opportunity for Indonesia to enter at the right moment, building on collaboration, strengthening talent, and developing products relevant to industry needs,” said Sigit Puji Santosa.

The synergy established with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology through the Directorate General of Research and Development demonstrates an increasingly robust collaborative approach. Danantara positions itself as a liaison between research and industry, enabling innovations to be directly directed toward commercialization.

Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto emphasized the government’s full support for the initiative initiated by Danantara. Regulatory and standardization policies continue to be strengthened to ensure rapid and targeted industrial development.

“The government will provide support in terms of regulation and standardization, while industry needs to be at the forefront because what is being developed is no longer just a research project, but an investment project that must produce products that are economically viable and commercially viable,” Brian Yuliarto emphasized.

Danantara’s active role in promoting the integration of talent, technology, and investment is a crucial foundation for building a sustainable semiconductor ecosystem. This approach reinforces Indonesia’s belief that it is not only a market but also a technology producer capable of competing globally.

With consistent government support and Danantara’s strategic initiatives, the significant opportunities for the national semiconductor industry are becoming increasingly apparent. This acceleration is expected to accelerate technological independence while opening up new opportunities for high-value, globally competitive economic growth.
