Supporting the Cyber Patrol of Hoax and Provocative Issues of Election 2018

CIDISS. The Indonesian National Army (TNI) is preparing to support a cyber patrol with Police ahead of the 2018 Serial election to be held on 27 June 2018.

Head of the TNI Information Center Maj. Gen. MS Fadhilah said the TNI had a role in monitoring the security threats of the cyber world.

Fadhilah said, because we are not law enforcers, the task is to maintain internally. Supervision will be conducted by TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency. In the event of potential security disturbances, the TNI will coordinate with the police as the party authorized to enforce the law.

He says we have intelligence, we have a BAIS to do, sort of fence off things that are related to cyber.

When asked about the potential of other groups outside Saracen and the Family Muslim Cyber ​​Army, Fadhilah declined to comment further. Nevertheless, he ensures that TNI intelligence has been running for surveillance in the cyber world. Yes our intelligence agency is already running. But we do not open the intelligence here. We coordinate with the police and so on.

As is well known, the Police have dismantled the hoax spreader syndicates and provocative issues. The Directorate of Criminal Crime of Crime Police revealed the group that formed a group on Facebook named “Saracen”. The group uploaded content in the form of memes containing hate speech and offensive tribes, religions, races, and groups.

Content distributed by the perpetrators includes the issue of the rise of the Communist Party of Indonesia, the abduction of Ulama, and the defamation of the president, the government, to certain figures. Not only that, the offender also spread content containing the virus in certain people.

The synergy between the TNI and the Police is a form to safeguard and create a safe and peaceful situation among the Indonesian people ahead of this year’s elections.
