Government Ready to Offer LRT Project Development to Investors During IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting in Bali

CIDISS. Indonesia will host the International Monetary Fund World Bank (IMF-WB) Forum which will be held in Bali in October 2018, in addition to the infrastructure already prepared for the welcoming of delegates, the Government will also prepare cooperation offerings among others, offers cooperation to the participants of the forum to work together in the construction of Light Rapid Transit (Light Rail). The government will plan the construction of LRT in 3 Provinces after Jakarta, namely Medan, Bandung and Surabaya which is named Urban Transport Project, this effort is done to break down the traffic jam that recently happened in big city city in Indonesia. And to accelerate the development without imposing to the State Budget.

Minister of transportation Budi Karya Sumadi explained that the development of LRT in Indonesia is currently mostly in the lyrics by private parties, because it is considered to have a very promising investment value, as evidenced by the Jakarta-Surabaya LRT Project which is done with Japan with a total investment value of 60 trillion rupiah.

The chief executive of the IMF-World Bank Susiwijono moegiarso meeting in Jakarta. Explaining that the LRT project is not related to the Annual Meeting, this plan of follow-up to the World Bank’s aid offer for transportation arrangements in a number of major cities in Indonesia will be optimally utilized. Of the four cities proposed, three cities have proposals, namely Medan, Bandung and Surabaya.

The government appointed PT. Sarana Multi Infrastructure or SMI (Persero) to lead the offering of various investment projects to investors who will attend the IMF-World Bank meeting event. The opportunities offered by Indonesia are not merely the mission proposed by the Indonesian government, but both the IMF and the World Bank themselves are asking for it to Indonesia.
