To secure the IMF-World Bank Meeting, the Indonesia’s Navy prepared a number of Warships in Bali
CIDISS. In an effort to support security at the meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) – World Bank in Nusa Dua, the Navy is ready to deploy a number of warships to secure territorial waters around the island of Bali.
Commander of Denpasar Naval Base (Lanal) Naval Colonel (P) Henricus Prihantoko said a number of security units from elements of the TNI, Police, Regional Government and all components of the community had been prepared so that the international meeting would run smoothly, safely and in a well-controlled manner.
Kolonel Laut (P) Henricus Prihantoko said, “In terms of security at sea, the Navy’s ranks are always ready to fully support so that the IMF and World Bank events will be safe and smooth.
According to Henricus, this step is in accordance with the function of the existence of the Denpasar Navy Base, among them to conduct security in Bali waters. In addition, working together with safeguarding existing areas, including the deployment of several warships.
He added the role of all parties to participate in maintaining the security and conduciveness of the region and the success of the event which will be attended by around 15,000 delegates from various countries.
Hendriuc explained that the Bali area was surrounded by the sea and we must protect it from the security side, of course by involving elements of the Indonesian warship (KRI) assisted by a task force formed by the Navy to secure the entire series of IMF-World Bank activities.
Denpasar Lanal is a work unit that is located directly under the Commander of Lantamal V, which has a main task, namely to provide logistical support for elements of the Indonesian Navy or other units in its working area.
Furthermore, in carrying out the empowerment of defense areas, Lanal cooperates and coordinates with other relevant agencies and continuously improves its capabilities through serious efforts by synergizing all the capabilities possessed in order to implement the Lanal tasks and functions in order to achieve the best performance.
Some time ago, a number of personnel from Lanal Denpasar and Lantamal V conducted a partial rehearsal including the simulation of the evacuation process of the community and delegates, if during the annual session there was a natural disaster or eruption of Mount Agung.
Lanal Denpasar is one of the supporting teams which has an important role to succeed in the international level event. With the inauguration of Denpasar, Lanal is expected to be able to help at the same time serve the people who are asking for assistance from the Navy and later also be able to move to respond more quickly to all developments in the situation so that the IMF-WB implementation can run safely and smoothly.
