The Epic Failure of OK OCE Program

314

The OK OCE program is short for One District One Center of Entrepreneurship, which is one of the programs raised by Sandiaga Uno when partnering with Anies Baswedan in the DKI Provincial Government. Unfortunately, the program that had attracted the hearts of the DKI community was now considered a failure. The OKCE program was neglected and problematic, long before Sandiaga Uno resigned from his position as Deputy Governor of DKI. The designer of the OK OCE program resigned before completing his promises during the campaign. The Jakarta community considers that Sandiaga Uno has taken responsibility by placing its position as Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta and advancing in the 2019 Presidential Election. At present, as many as 54,564 OCE OCE members have not been able to run a business due to blocked permission.

The OK OCE problem lies in the implementation of the program in the field which is not in accordance with Sandiaga’s promises during the campaign. Previously, Sandiaga promised three things that could be obtained by the people of DKI when registering the OKCE program, namely providing capital support, market access, to mentors for entrepreneurs. Reality says something else. Capital support for entrepreneurship does not come. Sandiaga instead directed residents to borrow business capital to Bank DKI with interest rates reaching 13 percent. The people complained with interest that was too high. Capital loans with interest of 13 percent did not even alleviate, but instead burdensome citizens. Plus residents must provide their home certificates as collateral for capital loans from Bank DKI.

In addition, several business people in the OK OCE program said that they had never received assistance from Sandiaga Uno. OK OCE Mart shopkeeper in Cilandak and the OCE OK Outlet manager in Pancoran claimed to have never received business assistance in the form of training or capital. In East Jakarta, OK OCE Mart business people cannot afford to rent land and decide to close the shop because the shop turnover has never reached Rp 1 million per month. Many people were optimistic about the program, but had to fail halfway due to bankruptcy. And worse, Sandiaga Uno no longer cares about the fate of the people of DKI.

Various facts in the field reinforce the suspicion that Sandiaga only made OK OCE a slogan in the campaign. When he served as Deputy Governor of DKI, there was an impression that he had never really seriously supported the implementation of this program with an indication that he had not fulfilled the promise to provide capital and assist business actors. Until this moment, Sandiaga still uses OK Oce as campaign slogans in various places. In each of his speeches Sandiaga tried to say that the OKCE was its flagship program in DKI which was claimed to have been successful. Lie!

Not scaring, just asking the public to be vigilant so that they don’t choose the presidential candidate or vice president, because they don’t know about the program offered. Has it been proven or just a sweet promise. Judging from the campaign in the 2019 Presidential Election, this disappointing OK OCE program is about to offer again. Maybe Sandi wants OK OCE not only to disappoint the citizens of DKI Jakarta, but the entire Indonesian people. With so much evidence of the failure of the OK Oce program in the media, of course people today are not easily fooled again by campaigns that only contain sweet promises. Reflecting on DKI Jakarta, Indonesian people must be smart in choosing prospective leaders. Don’t be easy to believe in the sweet promises of the campaign that have been proven not to be able to be realized, because people’s welfare is not a negotiable bargain. (GJ)
