The Job Creation Law makes it easier for business permits because there is a cluster of ease of doing business. With this law, it will help business people, especially those who are still at the MSME level (micro, small and medium enterprises). They have an NIB (business identification number) so that their trading activities are legal and more trusted by customers.
Indonesian people, especially youth, are passionate about becoming entrepreneurs. They become traders because they want to be successful and have an income above the UMR. Especially in the era of information technology, entrepreneurs are facilitated with promotions on social media, so that their customers are from all over Indonesia.
There are more and more entrepreneurs in this country, and the majority are at the small and medium level. However, MSMEs are trying to get up after going through 3 years of the pandemic, because people’s purchasing power has dropped dramatically.
The government doesn’t want them to completely close their business because it will be dangerous for the country’s economy. MSMEs are prioritized by the government because they are the backbone of the economy in Indonesia.
MSMEs are privileged, in order to expedite their business and increase people’s purchasing power. Hopefully after the business increases, Indonesia’s financial condition will improve. Therefore, MSMEs are assisted through the Job Creation Law.
In the Job Creation Law there is a cluster of ease of doing business and MSME which contains articles that benefit small and medium entrepreneurs. They will be facilitated in managing business license numbers (NIB). MSMEs will have business legality and their business will grow rapidly.
The Job Creation Law also facilitates business permits for traders in the fisheries and maritime sectors. The Task Force for the Acceleration of Dissemination of the Job Creation Law held a workshop as well as outreach in Belawan, Medan, on July 18 2023. During the event, Tina Talisa, Chair of the Work Creation Law Task Force on Substance Synergy Socialization, stated that this workshop was held in order to provide easy access to business permits directly (on the spot) for traditional fishermen and women processing seafood. The aim is to encourage economic participation from various community groups.
Tina Talisa continued, the government views MSME actors in the fisheries and marine sector as ‘investors’ whose role is to reduce unemployment by creating jobs.
In a sense, the Job Creation Law is not only useful for entrepreneurs in the fashion sector, but also fisheries. They can get NIB easily through online single submission (OSS). With online management, the flow will be faster, anti-corruption (bribery), and they will get an NIB which is useful for continuing their business.
The Job Creation Law can improve the quality of MSMEs because there are several conveniences for them. First, it is easy to manage business license numbers (NIB). This permit is free so that MSMEs will not be in trouble, especially when they are recovering after being hit by a pandemic. NIB processing is also fast, it takes less than 2 weeks to complete, with the condition that the administration must be complete.
When MSMEs already have an NIB, their business will be legal and recognized by the state. MSME entrepreneurs will be more serious in doing business and try hard to improve their quality. They not only make products with national standards, but also international ones.
If the quality of MSME products increases, it will have a positive impact on them. Product sales will be more in demand and turnover will increase rapidly. MSMEs will get high profits, even more than before the pandemic. In this way, they will be more advanced and simultaneously drive the Indonesian economy.
Then, MSMEs are assisted by the Job Creation Law because there is a customs incentive. MSMEs engaged in exports and imports will be greatly helped by this. They will try to improve the quality of service because there is ease in doing business, and the people are happy because even though they are ‘only’ with MSME status, the service is satisfactory.
With intensive customs duties, it will be easy for MSME entrepreneurs in the fisheries sector to carry out their export-import business and their products will be increasingly recognized internationally. They can export canned fish and various other products.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Indonesian Traditional Fishermen’s Association, Dani Setiawan, considers the event held by the Task Force for the Acceleration of Socialization of the Job Creation Law to be very important for the progress of business actors in the fisheries sector. The Job Creation Law plays a very crucial role in providing convenience for business people. Fisheries business actors are no exception.
Dani added, this workshop was to ensure that the businesses being carried out could obtain permits which were made easier by the Job Creation Law. In a sense, the government makes it easier for MSME businesses to do business and provide NIB, so that the business is legal and trusted by many people.
MSME entrepreneurs already have an NIB as one of the conditions for obtaining credit with low interest. If there is additional capital, MSMEs can develop their business while improving their quality.
The Job Creation Law makes it easy for business permits, and is very useful for traders, especially those who are still at the MSME level. They have an NIB as legality and increase investor and customer confidence. Entrepreneurs in the fisheries and maritime sectors also benefit from the Job Creation Law because there is a customs incentive.
