One of the moments that is always awaited is the New Year holiday, which is usually filled with long trips, visits to family, or just taking a break after months of hard work. For this reason, ahead of the 2025 New Year holiday, the government has prepared various strategic steps to ensure a smooth holiday for the community, both in terms of transportation, security, and other public services.
One of the main steps taken by the government is to ensure smooth transportation. Realizing that the New Year holiday is often marked by a spike in the number of trips, whether by land, sea, or air, the government has planned various efforts to overcome potential traffic jams and other transportation difficulties. The Transportation Agency (Dishub) and related ministries are working together to prepare adequate transportation infrastructure, such as improving facilities at airports, stations, and terminals. In addition, the government has also allocated more public transportation fleets to meet the mobility needs of the community, reduce congestion, and ensure that travel remains comfortable and safe. Road construction and repairs are also being carried out continuously at several strategic points to support smooth traffic flow, especially in areas that often experience congestion during the holiday season.
Minister of Transportation (Menhub), Dudy Purwagandhi, said that his party has reviewed four main toll gates exiting Jakarta to ensure smooth traffic flow during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays. He also advised road users to arrange travel times, anticipate congestion, and maintain physical condition. Given the spike in vehicle volume that often occurs on various main routes, both to tourist destinations and family gathering places, thorough preparation is the main key to enjoying an uninterrupted holiday.
Not only in transportation routes, the government also pays great attention to safety aspects. During the New Year holidays, the potential for traffic accidents increases, so preventive efforts are very important. The police and other related agencies will increase supervision on the highway by conducting routine patrols and checkpoints. In addition, driving safety campaigns, such as the use of seat belts and helmets, will also be intensified through various media, both on social media and in the field directly.
To support public comfort, the health sector is also not exempt from the government’s attention. During this long holiday period, hospitals and health centers will continue to operate with a 24-hour service system. The government has instructed all health facilities to prepare medical personnel and equipment needed to handle possible emergencies. In addition, a number of health posts and ambulances will be on standby in accident-prone locations, such as around the main homecoming and tourist routes. This shows that the government is very concerned about the health and safety of its citizens, providing a sense of calm for anyone traveling during the New Year holiday.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Police, General of Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo, said that his party had ordered members to carry out security starting from sterilization at the beginning, to ensuring that all SOPs related to securing the 2024 New Year holiday run well. Through thorough preparation and high awareness, the 2025 New Year holiday moment can be a fun time for the whole family without any obstacles. The government also hopes that every road user can play an active role in creating a smooth, comfortable, and safe journey.

Security is also strengthened in tourist attractions that are predicted to be crowded, such as shopping centers, amusement parks, and natural attractions. These various steps, ranging from improving transportation facilities, safety supervision, improving health facilities, to maintaining order, make the 2025 New Year holiday more comfortable and enjoyable.
