42nd OIC Members Meeting in Kuwait

Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has held 42nd Meeting of the OIC’s Foreign Affairs Council in Kuwait on Thursday, followed by 57 Ministers and senior delegations of OIC member. The meeting emphasized on two recent international problem such as terrorism and Rohingya refugees.
The meeting’s theme, “Joint Vision to Strengthen Tolerance and Reject Terrorism”, accords with the subjects of informal meetings between President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and leaders of OIC member countries during the Asia Africa Commemoration Summit in Jakarta from April 22 to 23.
Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno LP Marsudi said closer cooperation among Islamic countries in the economic, social and cultural development in order to improve the welfare of the people is the key of an effort to promote tolerance and combat terrorism in the Islamic world.
On the others hand, Retno emphasized that OIC members need to build a main strategy and cooperation step to face improvement of extremists and terorism act, as well to encourage tolerance in Muslim countries.
Especially in Rohingya refugees problem, Retno said and Malaysia as two largest Muslim populations, had taken measures to tacle the international humanitarian problem. Human Boat has being a world problem, and each country has to shown their humanity to solve this problem.
During the summit, President Jokowi and his OIC counterparts discussed strengthening solidarity and cooperation in the Islamic world.
