About Tax Amnesty: Performance of the Tax Amnesty in Indonesia is the second largest in the world

CIDISS – Indonesia has implement tax amnesty in order to withdraw fund from foreign and adding state source income from tax sector. The signing of law about Tax Amnesty on 28/6/2016 by DPR, Indonesian government has always published and giving information about tax amnesty to many parties. Since the date, Indonesian Government has collected repatriation fund or redeem money IDR 86.4 trillion.
The ministry of finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that implement of tax amnesty by Indonesian government run successfully. Moreover, she claimed that repatriation fund is the second largest in the world which amount of IDR 86.4 trillion after Chile if count by Gross Domestic product (PDB) 0,65 percent.
“Indonesia with repatriation fund or 0,65 percent of PDB, this is the highest, close to Chile with 0.62 % that implement in the previous year,” said Sri Mulyani in the evaluation meeting of tax amnesty with Commission XI DPR in Nusantara I Building, Parlemen Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (29/9/2016).
The performance of tax amnesty in Indonesia is up of several countries that had implement tax amnesty. The countries are India in 1997 which only got 0.58 percent, Italia 0.20 percent, South Africa 0.17 percent, Australia 0.14 percent, Spain 0.12 percent, and German 0.04 percent.
From the view of property declaration with PDB measurement, Indonesia is also on high position which 21 percent. She claimed that the performance of tax amnesty has significant number.
