In the technological era, the spread of radicalism is a scourge that deserves to be watched out for. The government and society must not be careless about the spread of radical ideas which can now target young people and educated circles.
Wherever the understanding of radical growth always has a strong magical power. He has powerful weapons to provoke or influence his victims. Indiscriminately, like young and old, poor-rich, men and women, even children can not be separated from the snares of this distorted understanding. Its spread was also increasingly shot along with the development of the world of technology. As if Eisntein brained, these actors have a formula for recruiting people to enlarge their reach. And finally it can lead to acts of terrorism.
In addition, education that comes from an early age is more or less influential. Incidentally instilling racist attitudes are sometimes done by parents. Take for example, parents forbid their children from associating with different religions. Though this kind of will lead to intolerance between religious communities. Which can continue to be embedded in children’s thinking. Worse, if it is spiced with false doctrines. Therefore, education must be applied with caution. Not just forbidding or doctrine, but also must comply with applicable norms.
No doubt, it really needs a special way to ward off terrorist groups that are still massive in spreading misguided notions on social media. Moreover, their narratives in the name of religion are not justified. According to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Cooperation of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Waryono Abdul Ghafur, stated that to fight the narratives of this radical understanding it must be with religion as well. Because truly, the true religion is that which teaches peace.
He added, radical groups which had been firmly anti-NKRI from the start, would be difficult to realize only with an understanding and appreciation of the ideology of Pancasila. According to him, the role of educational institutions is so important to counter radicalism. Because there are teachers in the educational institutions, lecturers who will give a lesson to their students. However, it must also be ensured that these educators are not exposed to radical ideas or terrorism.
In addition, the community must also be given an understanding to always be aware of the spread of radical ideas that are keen in the name of religion. Even with the synergy between ministries and institutions must also be increased.
Judging from its understanding, radicalism is an ideology, ideas or understandings by means of wanting to make changes to the social and political system using violent or extreme methods. The core of this radicalism is the attitude and actions of a particular person or group that uses violent methods to bring about the desired change. They want this to happen instantly and quickly but contrary to the prevailing social system. It should be noted, Radicalism is an embryo for the birth of terrorism.
There are several characteristics that can be recognized from radical attitudes and understandings. 1) high intolerant attitude (do not want to respect the opinions & beliefs of others), 2) fanaticism or fanaticism (always feeling right yourself; think others are wrong), 3) exclusive (distinguishing themselves from Muslims in general) and 4) Being revolutionary (tend to use violent means to achieve goals).
Meanwhile, the notion of terrorism based on the Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 5 of 2018 namely, amendment to Law number 15 of 2013 concerning the stipulation of government regulations to substitute Law number 1 of 2002 relating to eradicating criminal acts of terrorism is an act of using violence or the threat of violence that generates widespread fear, and can cause mass casualties.
Including funds or even causing damage or destruction to vital strategic objects, the environment, public facilities, to international facilities with ideological, political and security disturbances.
The role of the family in this case is considered the most dominating. Remember, all humans begin their education from the family. The cultivation of high tolerance is effective enough to anticipate the exposure of radical understanding. The deepening of true religion in the right people will also have an effect. Therefore, a shallow religious ability can be fatal if the application is wrong. Therefore, the government continues to warn that we are always antipathy with this radical understanding. Because not only threaten the stability of national security, but also the next generation of the nation. Let’s fight radicalism and terrorism from now on.
