Appreciation of Jokowi’s Leadership: Religious Figures Encourage the Success of a Peaceful Transition and the Prabowo-Gibran Program
Jakarta – The Deputy Chairman of the MUI, KH. Marsudi Syuhud, invites all parties to make Indonesia a strong and peaceful country.
He expressed his immense gratitude that Indonesia, under the leadership of President Jokowi for two terms, remains safe and comfortable to this day, where the nation can work and build.
“The nation that is Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, how can we live side by side, enjoying and being grateful to God for the development that has been taking place,” said the Vice Chairman of MUI, KH. Marsudi Syuhud, during the SAPA Indonesia dialogue on Kompas TV on Thursday (19/9).
KH. Marsudi Syuhud hopes that the elected President and Vice President will continue the initiatives undertaken by President Jokowi.
According to him, the continuity of the programs that have been implemented is important to maintain the progress that has been achieved so far.
“Don’t let it be interrupted, so that the continuity of these good achievements can be maintained and improved for the future,” he stated.
He believes that the upcoming government will be able to continue various initiatives of the previous president and carry them forward according to the grand plans.
“Everything must be interconnected; we shouldn’t let the grand plan that has reached this stage go unfinished,” said KH. Marsudi.
This message also emphasizes the importance of strong religious tolerance and the role of all layers of society in nation-building.
On the same occasion, the Secretary-General of PP Muhammadiyah, Prof. Abdul Muchti, stated that in Indonesia, brotherhood among the nation and homeland can be well maintained.
According to him, the election of Prabowo and Gibran is a victory for the Indonesian nation because a peaceful and orderly election is a sign of our maturity in democracy.
“Let us give both of them the opportunity to lead this country. We must also be active and participatory citizens for the common good, for a progressive Indonesia and a golden Indonesia,” expressed Prof. Abdul Muchti.
He also expressed appreciation for President Jokowi’s performance during his 10 years leading Indonesia and the collaboration that has developed between President Jokowi and Muhammadiyah in various fields.
“We must be a nation that is capable of appreciating and respecting its leaders by objectively assessing the comprehensive achievements that President Jokowi and his team have accomplished, and we should acknowledge that,” he said.
Previously, the Chairman of the Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah, Haedar Nashir, met with President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta. The meeting discussed various matters, including expressing appreciation for the infrastructure programs that President Jokowi has implemented.
“We appreciate the infrastructure programs and various initiatives developed by the Government so far,” explained Haedar.
The Muhammadiyah PP also expressed appreciation, respect, and gratitude to President Jokowi and his team for their collaboration and support of Muhammadiyah’s programs over the past decade.
The achievements during the two terms of President Jokowi’s leadership serve as the foundation for the commitment of the elected President Prabowo Subianto and the elected Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka to continue national development towards an advanced Indonesia, a Golden Indonesia.
