All the efforts that have been made by the security forces consisting of joint TNI and Polri personnel to evacuate residents in Paro District deserve the highest appreciation. the people feel uneasy that their security is threatened due to the acts of terror that continue to be carried out by KST Papua which are increasingly stopping.
The actions of the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) have indeed made the lives of the people in Cenderawasih Earth itself full of anxiety. In fact, they are willing to flee from one village to be able to move to another place because they really want a safer life and feel calm.
It’s not without reason that the community can feel unrest so they are willing to evacuate to leave their village and move to another place that is much safer. The reason is that previously, it was known that the Susi Air Porter aircraft had been reportedly set on fire by KST Papua.
The arson was discovered shortly after the Susi Air plane landed at Paro District Airport, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains Province on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. It was learned that this news occurred when the Pilatus Porter Susi Air plane with Flight Number SI 9386 to Timika – Paro – Timika apparently had experienced problems unable to be contacted and lost contact.
Regarding this incident, the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police, Kombes Pol Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, in his statement conveyed the chronology of the Pilatus Porter Susi Air plane at Paro Airport. According to him, the plane lost contact after landing in Paro.
Then, based on information from the Susi Air Airlines itself, the plane should have returned to Mozes Kilangin Airport, Mimika Regency at 07:40 WIT. Because he lost contact, it was later discovered that the plane was detained by the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) in Nduga, led by Egianus Kogoya.
As a result of this incident, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) finally evacuated 33 residents in Paro District, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains Province. They were evacuated after escaping and avoiding KST Papua on Saturday, February 11.
Tens of residents were evacuated by security forces to the Boaru Barracks Post, Task Force Organic Unit Korem 172/PWY Yonif R 514/SY, in Kenyam District, Nduga Regency. Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih, Colonel Kav Herman Taryaman explained that terror and provocative acts were apparently still being carried out by KST gangs.
Because of the terror and provocative acts that they continued to carry out, life among the people in Paro, Nduga Regency, was continuously shrouded in anxiety. Therefore, the residents in Paro chose to flee to a much safer place.
Thanks to the efforts made by the TNI and Polri in carrying out the evacuation, the residents were successfully evacuated after having to walk first through the rain from their village in Paro, then they still had to walk to the Lower Quary and then they were picked up using 2 trucks and 3 vehicles other.
The 33 residents who were evacuated consisted of 16 adults and 17 children. Then, after they were all taken to a safe place, the joint officers consisting of the TNI and Polri carried out health checks and provided food to all evacuated residents. After that, they were all immediately taken to the house of the Head of Tawelma Village, Paro District.
Colonel Kav Herman Taryaman added that until now it was possible that there would still be aftershocks from the Paro community heading to Kenyam District, Nduga Regency. Therefore, even now the joint security apparatus personnel of the TNI and Polri continue to follow developments in the situation that is occurring in Paro, Nduga Regency.
Previously, the evacuation process had also been carried out by the security forces, in which they evacuated as many as 15 workers who were building the Puskesmas. Then the TNI and Polri also carried out evacuation steps for as many as 25 residents in the Paro District on Friday 10 February 2022.
It was not half-hearted, in fact, as many as 25 residents who received threats and terror from KST Papua were immediately evacuated by security forces using two helicopters. The 25 residents who were successfully evacuated consisted of 14 adults and 11 children.
This is because the acts of terror carried out by the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) have not subsided, including their efforts to carry out provocations, ultimately making the community feel insecure. Fortunately, the security forces immediately made an evacuation effort to save and take the residents to a much safer place for them to live. All the efforts and hard work of the TNI and Polri deserve to get a very high appreciation.
