Choirul Fuadi, Central Kalimantan, CIDISS – Department of Tourism, Art and Culture Lamandau held ritual of Bebantan laman (Clean of Village) 2015. In series of agenda, committee held Bamboo Rafting race or rowing river use bamboo.
31 teams from 10 villages of Delang district participated in this race. In one team consist by 3 men.
All participants must wear Sabuk (belt) and Takuluk, they are Dayak traditional cloth. The cloth, they wore in waist and head.
All participants race against rowing river used rafting bamboo, the rafting consist of 7 bamboos then bound in one. Then, 2 other bamboos used as spear to move the rafting. A person has duty to keep balancing and two other moving the rafting.
The race started in Sitongah Bridge. Without obstacle, they go fast to finish line in Topin Balai Kudangan.
The race became merrier because Regent of Lamandau, Marukan came and flutter the start flag of race. In his speech, Marukan hope that the race will be held every year. Then art and custom of Dayak will add more.
The purpose of this agenda is to get interest of local and foreign tourist. “This is good momentum to continue publish Delang district as tourism destination of art and custom,” said Him like quote in Borneo News, Monday (6/7/2015).
