Beware of Radicalism Since Early

Radicalism has long blown and threatened the country’s sovereignty. Its spread can target all circles with a variety of tricks. For this reason, public awareness is needed to be aware of radicalism early on.

Radical understanding is very easy to spread like the wind as technology develops. The spread will be more rapid, especially in young people and women who are very easily affected. Where they are still in the stage of searching for identity and a desire to be curious about something.

Radicalism is also widely spread among universities or colleges. That is because the time of transition from adolescence to adulthood with critical thinking about a thing. However, the main problem is that if the rationale is wrong, the critical attitude will also lead to orthodox, hard and intolerant thinking.

Police Brigadier General and Director of the Prevention of the National Counter Terrorist Agency (BNPT), Hamli said that young people and women are very vulnerable to being exposed to radical terrorism, which in turn becomes terrorist perpetrators.

The Director of BNPT explained that radicalism and terrorism originated from human nature that showed symptoms of negative radical thought. These negative radicals arise from intolerance.

For this reason, in an effort to be aware of his radical notions, he conducts outreach to the public in order to properly understand what is terrorism, what is radicalism, and what is terrorism.

Radicalism is an understanding, ideas, ideology that seeks to make fundamental changes in the life of the nation, state, society that is contrary to the Pancasila and the constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.

Radicalism can be grouped into 5 groups. First, that is the center of the radicalism movement or the core group. Second, militant groups, namely the militant executors or executors of terrorist acts. Third, groups of supporters, both individuals and groups who voluntarily provide supporting facilities. Fourth, sympathizers who have the potential to support terrorist acts but are not involved during the action. Fifth, lastly the outermost layers, namely the people who are vulnerable to being targeted by radicalism.

Along with the rapid development of technology also affects changes in people’s ethics and behavior. The more vigorous a person uses social media, the higher the person’s potential is exposed to radicalism

The storm of globalization in this digital era, radicalism, terrorism, of course the government needs to build vigilance early on with the surrounding environment.

Kasat Binmas Metro Bekasi Police, Kompol Alin Kuncoro appealed to the public not to join in or get caught up in the radicalism expressed by radical people or groups. Because they aim to divide the unity and integrity of the Indonesian people.

Kompol Alin Kuncoro also hopes that the public will not be easily consumed by the seduction of unscrupulous propagators of radicalism and hoax news that is widely circulated on social media.

Many indeed link radicalism with religion. In fact, in Indonesia radicalism is based on political interests and is not included in religious teachings. Radicalism can be prevented by actions such as affirming Islamic moderation in Indonesia, being open-minded and tolerating, deepening the spirit of nationalism, being alert to provocation and provocation, interacting with positive communities and peace and carrying out religious activities with tolerance.

All Indonesian citizens from all walks of life have the same role in reducing the spread of radicalism in order to maintain the country’s sovereignty. Forever, radicalism will not be in line with Pancasila, which is the basis of the unity and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.
