Black Campaign
CIDISS. Although it is not a legal way to get community support, a black campaign is an integral part of the elections. This leads to every democratic party event aka black campaign tones that occur, although the number is not much.
The black campaign is an attempt to undermine or question a person’s reputation, by issuing negative propaganda. It can be applied to individuals or groups. Common targets are public positions, politicians, political candidates, activists and ex-husbands.
In this day and age, black campaigning is mostly done through social media because the spread is very fast and requires less funds. Compare it with black campaign deployment in the conventional way, which requires manpower as well as substantial funds to create a number of campaign media, such as posters and pamphlets. At this time, black campaigns are quite spread through social media and will soon be seen by many people in a short time.
The existence of this black campaign method is actually an irony for our election of regional head. This is because democracy in our country is already classified as advanced, but black campaign is still used as one of the way of candidate pair to get the victory. In fact, the implementation of black campaigns will be counter-productive in the spirit of building a healthy democracy.
