A total of 11 members of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) have been named as suspects because they allegedly committed incitement and provoked riots during the commemoration of the 93rd anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in Srimersing Field, Tebing Tinggi City, North Sumatra.
For the provocative actions he did, the suspects were charged with article 160 subsidiary 175 juncto articles 55 and 56 of the Criminal Code of Crime with the threat of a six-year prison sentence. The police are still in the case and are open to the possibility that there will be other suspects.
The riot began when Gus Muwafiq as the speaker, delivered tausiah towards the end of the session. Suddenly Su and his colleagues tried to enter the location of the event while shouting.
When a riot occurs, the security officer makes a great effort to remind and ask them not to make noise and commotion.
“Su and his friends did not accept the grand tabligh, he said astray. One of his friends even shouted ‘Break up all, break up all’. Security personnel try to banish and remind. Su’s entourage increasingly shouted – shouting, ‘disband, disperse’. They also forced the mothers who participated in the recitation to demonstrate but were rejected, “said the Head of the North Sumatra Regional Police Public Relations Commissioner Tatan Dirsan Atmaja.
The police have determined 11 FPI members who were suspects in the riots, namely SAS, MFS, MHH, AN, AD, AS, SU, OQ. AR, II and RFS.
The perpetrators are suspected of inciting or obstructing religious meetings that are of a general nature and permitted as Article 160 subsidiary 175 juncto Articles 55 and 56 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a sentence of six years in prison.
“The results of the case degree have been fulfilled by the element of criminal acts and there is enough evidence to detain suspects. Investigators are still deep in their intellectual actors and there is a possibility that there will be other suspects, “said Tatan Dirsan Atmaja.
At that time, officials attended the event, including North Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Agus Andrianto, Tebingtinggi Mayor Umar Zunaidi Hasibuan, as well as religious and community leaders.
The perpetrators were forced to be secured because they were determined to dissolve the Harlah NU event despite being warned by security officials. The riots at the Srimersing Square took place at 11:40 WIB.
At that time the officer immediately secured eight people. After the inspection, three other FPI members were also arrested.
Even this disturbance was regretted by the secretary general of PDI-Perjuangan, Hasto Kristiyanto, he also asked all parties not to become provocateurs in this political year.
“The NU has been giving up a lot. Do not then make efforts for provocation, “Hasto said in Lampung.
As one of the largest Muslim organizations in Indonesia, NU has a very large role in maintaining the integrity of the NKRI. For this reason, all parties should be able to respect.
“That’s why for any party, especially those who have just arrived, who don’t sweat in the struggle for independence, don’t test NU’s patience. So far, NU is very big, in maintaining orderly norms in our society, “Hasto said.
“Don’t test the patience of NU. “If they are really offended, oh, England is just frantic at that time,” he added.
Hasto encouraged the police to thoroughly investigate the case. Hasto also asked the police not to hesitate in cracking down on all acts of violence and intimidation.
This riot also caused the death of a police officer named Erik. Personnel from the Tebing Tinggi police intelligence unit suffered bruises on the face and head because they were beaten by FPI members while securing the Harlah Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) event.
As a public servant, he immediately requested that they (FPI) not interfere directly, especially as this program had official permission. Instead of accepting it, he immediately got a number of blows from behind by other FPI members.
As a result, Erik has to undergo treatment at the hospital, he has also forgiven them, especially since this has become a risk for his duties as a state servant. He also did not recognize who the perpetrators of the beatings were.
“His body is big, because the crowd is crowded so I’m not clearly visible,” he admitted.
North Sumatra Regional Police Chief Insp. Gen. Adrianto deplored the commotion caused by a group of FPI members during the 93rd anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama which brought Gus Muwafiq.
Furthermore the Mayor of Tebing Tinggi Ir. H Umar Zunaidi Hasibuan, MM in his interview was very disappointed with the actions of the FPI which damaged the atmosphere of Tabligh Akbar, and he handed over the legal process to the police because it defiled and damaged the image of Islam.
The violence in Harlah NU added to the length of the violence carried out by FPI. In addition to indeed wanting to create confusion, FPI’s arbitrary actions have characterized efforts to violate the law because the event Harlah NU has pocketed official permission from the Police. Therefore, the government must intervene in the handling of organizations that always make unrest among the people.
The community needs to appreciate the Police’s swift action in investigating cases of FPI violence in Tebing Tinggi. However, this was considered insufficient because the riots in Tebing Tinggi were not considered the last considering that the FPI repeatedly never deterred from committing violence. If you still continue to commit violence, then there is no other way than to dissolve them according to the mandate of the Civil Society Law. Because, Indonesia without FPI is the best solution for this nation.
