The atrocities of the Papuan Armed Separatist Criminal Group (KKSB) continue to recur and cause casualties among civilians. Papuans support the TNI / Polri to suppress the group by its roots.
The inevitable shootout between Brimob and the Armed Criminal Group (KKSB) in Nduga Papua, on Wednesday (02/26/2020). The contact occurred at a distance of about 500 meters from Kenyam Airport.
The shootout in Papua seemed to be an old song between the government and those who wanted to separate themselves from Papua.
For this incident, one member of the task force (task force), Brigadier Junaidi, suffered a gunshot wound in the right chest to penetrate into his back. It is known at this time that the condition is still stable.
The victim was evacuated to Mimika District Hospital from Kenyam. However, because his injuries were quite severe and in critical condition, the victims were immediately evacuated to Jakarta using a Batik Air aircraft from Mozes Kilangin Airport in Timika.
Before the shootout, it was suspected that the KKSB had carried out an earlier shooting in the airport area and left two people injured. A housewife is reportedly injured in the neck, while a man is injured in his leg.
The two men namely Yosman Wasiangge and Waslina Tabuni. Yosman was hit by a bullet in the back and Waslina was shot in the neck.
The Mobile Brigade who were members of the Elang Task Force were fired on by the KKSB in the Koteka village of the subdued district.
The attack carried out by the KKSB led by Egianus Kogoya occurred at 11:45 CET.
At that time the TNI post that was in the Koteka village, Kenyam District suddenly got a fist shot from across the Kenyam river.
When getting attacked, the community around the post was doing a rock burning event at a location which was about 300 meters from the post.
Since getting distracted, all postal personnel swiftly take security procedures around the post (alarm stelling).
Then, around 16:15 CEST, the KKSB again fired shots from the direction of the village, the shot made the people who were carrying out the stone burning ceremony scattered to seek protection.
Lieutenant Colonel (Lt. Col.) Dax Sianturi said that civilians who were victims of the incident were allegedly hit by stray bullets while trying to find shelter.
He explained, initially the KKSB led by Egianus Kogoya attacked the TNI Post when the community was carrying out a stone burning event.
Dax said, in the brutal action there were eyewitnesses who saw 4 KKSB people carrying 3 AK type firearms still firing towards the post when the community scattered.
The post commander then ordered all members to hold fire until the mass concentration left the area.
Previously a member of Commission 1, Sukamta, asked the government to immediately eradicate armed separatist criminal groups. He considered the government should be more serious in combating the Free Papua KKSB, as well as the “sweep” of terrorist groups.
The step, according to him, aims to prevent victims from falling back and the government also needs to be more active in de-radicalizing efforts to groups of people who are active in raising opinions, ideologizing, etc.
The attack on the police station was not only a criminal act, but also a national threat that led to the separatist movement, so that the authorities should appropriately stop the movement of the OPM to its roots.
The Public Information Bureau of the Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo, considered that the actions of the armed group led by Egianus were provocative. The police, guaranteeing security in Nduga, are nearing day.
Dedi also said that his party had put on alert status 1 to anticipate attacks by armed groups there. He guarantees the existence of law enforcement officers will always bring a sense of security for the people of Nduga in their activities.
The attack that has been carried out by the KKB certainly poses a serious threat to the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia and the progress of the development program in Papua which is being promoted by the government. Moreover, Papua will soon hold its title, namely PON XX.
If we refer to the Antiterrorism Law No. 5 of 2018, surely we will agree that what happened in Nduga has fulfilled the definition of terrorism.
So that Criminal Groups who want to tear national unity must be followed up seriously, so that the territory of the Republic of Indonesia remains united from Sabang to Merauke.
