Commemorating November 10 Heroes’ Day, Jokowi Goes With Ontel without brakes around Bandung

CIDISS. After becoming a Heroes Day ceremony inspector at the Bandung Cikutra Heroes Cemetery, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ontel bicycles crossing the streets of Bandung, West Java, Saturday (11/10/2018)

Jokowi’s appearance was highlighted by residents. This was due to the style of Jokowi who wore typical warrior clothing and an onthel bicycle complete with a small red and white flag paired on a bicycle. Shortly afterwards, the President then boarded the provided ontel bicycle. He was with the West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, the Chief of Staff of the President of Moeldoko, the TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and the National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian began pedaling their bicycles.

Uniquely the bike that Jokowi was riding in did not have brakes. This was revealed by the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil. “The bicycle didn’t have brakes,” said Ridwan Kamil smiling. Hokowi confirmed this. He said, he was indeed given several choices of bicycles. But he deliberately chose the type of black ontel bicycle. “The bike was chosen by several, but I chose the lightest one. But it was an old bicycle, indeed there were no brakes,” Jokowi said smiling.

Jokowi commemorated the hero day in Bandung Flower City, also attended by Social Minister Agus Gumiwang, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Special Staff Coordinator for President Teten Masduki. The route taken by the President is Gedung Sate – Jalan Diponegoro – Jalan Ir. Juanda – Jalan Merdeka – Jalan Aceh – Jalan Banda – Gedung Pintu Rear Sate. “By saying bismillahirahmanirahim, I declare the Bandung Ocean Bike event. Five, four, three, two, one,” said Jokowi who then raised the flag.

Throughout the journey, the community seemed to welcome the Head of State with a wave or a small flag. The Head of State returned a wave of their hands while smiling and pedaling his bicycle, this event was held by Kodam III / Siliwangi in commemoration of Heroes’ Day on November 10, 2018.
