CIDISS – In order to create a safe and conducive situation ahead of the upcoming 2019 Presidential Election and Pileg, Baintelkam National Police Headquarters visited Riau Customary Institution (LAM) Leaders in Pekanbaru.
The meeting which has taken place twice in the past month agreed to hold a Peaceful Declaration of Elections which will be attended by all Malay Customary Leaders.
The first meeting at the Riau LAM office on Jalan Diponegoro which was held the first Sunday last October. Baintelkam Police Headquarters Team represented by Pol Sr. Comr. Kasmen and Riau LAM Leader Datuk Sri Al Azhar.
Commissioner of Police Dr. Kasmen said that the situation was safe and conducive was a shared responsibility. He revealed, all parties should be able to generate a positive and cool aura in creating a safe and conducive situation to welcome the 2019 Pileg and Pilpres.
Meanwhile, Datuk Sri Al Azhar said, in welcoming this election and legislative election, he hoped the Riau Malay community to be more mature in politics.
He said, Riau people should not be provoked and divided, because elections and legislative elections are only a routine five-year agenda in realizing democracy in this country.
In the second meeting of the National Police Headquarters and the Riau LAM, which was held on October 21, agreed to embrace all Malay figures who will be embodied in a Declaration in the near future.
The safe and conducive situation leading up to the 2019 Presidential Election and Legislative Election is a shared responsibility that should be enforced jointly by all communities and the government. This is to uphold democratic freedom as aspired by the ancestors and national heroes.
