The new name of the new suspect related to the riots in the Papu Student dormitory has emerged. This extended the list of racist and provocateurs of Papua riots that needed to be dealt with immediately.
The aftermath of the Papuan riots last week still seems to have raised new names. Related indications of acts of provocation include expressions of hatred. Some names that have been proven have been transported for further investigation. The implication is the determination of the sentence according to the perpetrators of the crime.
The name Veronika Koman is now a trending topic after she has been named a suspect. Veronika is a new name after the initials TS and SA emerged. The police officially set Veronica Koman to be a suspect on the basis of narration and provocation carried out through a Twitter account in connection with riots in the Papua Student Dormitory.
Delivered by East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Luki Hermawan, if Veronica Koman was active in creating provocative content or posts about riots in the Papua Student Dormitory and parts of Papua. This woman’s name is allegedly active as a human rights lawyer who concentrates on the West Papua problem. Which is currently abroad.
On the other hand President Joko Widodo also ordered National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian to give strict legal sanctions to every perpetrator of ethnic discrimination and racism against Papuan students. Jokowi did not want the action to be left so that it could have an even greater impact.
Moreover, it is feared that there will be a new tail on other issues if the perpetrators are not immediately thoroughly investigated. Related to this the government has prepared a penalty to deter perpetrators. All criminal acts committed will be subject to sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations.
Veronika will be subject to four layered articles. And the police took Interpol to arrest this activist. Even though he was not at the location when the riot took place, he was very active in uploading signs and phonies in a provoking manner. He was also indicated to intensely provoke his writings inside and outside the country.
Veronika’s uploads are considered to have triggered riots in several areas in Papua and West Papua. Determination of this suspect has also been explored and based on 3 witnesses as well as 3 expert witnesses.
The police ensnared Veronica Koman snared a number of articles related to the ITE Law, Law Number 1 Year 46 concerning Criminal Law Regulations, Criminal Code Article 160, and Law Number 40 of 2008 concerning the Elimination of Racial and Ethnic Discrimination. “4/9/19 Merauke, West Papua.” And “Around 20 West Papuans were arrested for distributing leaflets on fighting racism,”
In addition to these uploads, it is suspected that there are several digital traces that are still being investigated. This evidence is still being studied by digital forensic laboratories for further research.
With the news of the discovery of new suspects, the government and Papuans can be calmer. At least all questions related to who is behind the scenes behind the mastermind slowly began to unfold. Moreover, seeing the performance of the government and the security apparatus who are keen to investigate this case, it is hoped that in the future good news will be obtained again.
Security is indeed a major factor in the comfort of a citizen. Which is able to make life continuity even better. If the perpetrators of racist acts and provocations have been arrested then, it does not rule out the normal conditions as usual when they will soon be realized.
Furthermore, the discovery of these suspects is able to avoid recriminations in various circles. Which incidentally actually makes the atmosphere more turbid and complicated. Hopefully the security apparatus as well as the government will immediately resolve this problem and find all the perpetrators of the harmful racism. So that no more similar incidents will be repeated.
