Papuans seem to think a lot after the riot the other day. They realize that the actions they are taking are only those who are not responsible for asking for a referendum. In the end Papua is still part of the Republic of Indonesia.
Jokowi’s administration’s attention to the people of Papua is considered to be very serious compared to the previous administration. Jokowi has visited Papua several times and launched a number of mega infrastructure projects, education, health, economy and other aspects.
Although it is considered to have poured a lot of funds into Papua, it seems that all is still lacking. Five years of building an island that is four times the size of Java has a difficult terrain. Some side-cornered the President only touched the development sector, not at the root of the problem. As a result, a series of human rights violations led to prolonged conflict.
But over time, the government was able to prove if it tried hard to equalize welfare in various sectors in Papua. Even though there is no area left behind, this is due to the performance of the regional government.
Another proof that the Papuan people want to always be part of the Republic of Indonesia is the return of the ex-OPM warrior to the lap of the motherland. Not only one or two people, but thousands of ex-OPM have rejoined Indonesia’s beloved country. They assess if Papua has experienced rapid development since the Jokowi era. Many of them feel calmer and safer together as part of the Homeland.
On the other hand, judging from the case of racism the other day which caused chaos was the peak of Papuan emotions. The feeling of being sidelined and annulled makes them ignite the spirit of an independent Papua. However, this can be suppressed by moving all elements of Indonesian society. Including officials, youth leaders and other parties.
Although many issues were spread to ignite the flames of the anger of the Papuan people, it seemed to have faded. Many residents of the Earth of Paradise are aware of the separatist actions they have taken due to irresponsible provocation. They feel cheated by all the acts of racism spreaders and finally apologize and are committed to not believing in any kind of provocation anymore.
The principle of NKRI fixed price for Indonesia from the decision of the Political Act of the Republic of Indonesia is considered as a final decision. And contain noble ideals of the nation. The government has also taken various development approaches in all fields to build the confidence of the people of Papua in Indonesia.
Like a tit for tat, in fact the people of Papua do not deny that he is part of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia. This was also agreed by the former President of Timor Leste, Ramos Horta. He considered if Papua still had to join Indonesia. Given the Jokowi’s government has committed strongly to meet the hopes of the people of the Earth of Paradise.
He added that the new order government was very different from today. He considered Jokowi to be more aspirational and willing to listen to the wishes of the people, especially in the education sector. He added that if through this education the people of Papua would become a big nation.
Horta stated if he saw a true opportunity for the Indonesian government to listen to the aspirations of the people of Papua. As well as making various efforts to build the region of Papua fiber provides learning and work opportunities for all Papuans. He also stated that the Government (Jokowi) should be supported by the international community to implement various policies.
From this we can see the synchronization between the people of Papua and Indonesia. The abundance of evidence of government efforts was also welcomed by the people of Papua. Various proofs of the convenience of the people of Papua to be part of the Homeland is not a mere figment.
The events that had heated up due to the issue of racism have now changed. Namely being able to strengthen relations between Papua and Indonesia. Various facts if the people of Papua want to always be the Homeland have also been revealed. Many parties have argued and agreed with Jokowi’s government to embrace Papua even deeper.
What needs to be underlined is the strengthening of Indonesia’s unity to be stronger. So that in the future there will be no more adverse events such as the other day. And the application of decisive action for anyone racist or separatist perpetrators. So no one dares to repeat this.
Papua’s desire is slowly being fulfilled by the Government (Jokowi). Therefore keep tightening the rope of peace and unity, do not give the slightest gap to the enemy who wants to enter and divide this beloved NKRI.
