Hoaxes and Radicalism are things that can hinder Indonesia’s progress, hoaxes are not a mild problem, because they can target anyone who is connected to the internet, while Radicalism seems to be an endless problem, it is characterized by acts of terror in places of worship or in the offices of the apparatus security.
Hoaks are false news or false news is information that is actually not true, but is made as if it were true. This false news cannot be verified truthfully and scientifically.
Hoaks that spread without knowing the time can have a bad impact, especially on the younger generation of gadget users. In addition, the Hoaks can also trigger divisions, both between individuals and between certain groups. And the terrible Hoaks can make facts no longer be trusted, history can be biased and become mistaken due to Hoaks news that is delivered continuously.
In an era like today, almost everyone uses social media, and hoax news is very easily spread across various platforms.
If left unchecked, the Hoaks not only threaten unity in the Republic of Indonesia, but also hinder the progress of the nation. In a study, psychologists agreed that news of hoaxes could have a negative impact on mental health, such as post-traumatic stress syndrome (PSTD).
Not only that, psychologists also believe, that people who are exposed to hoax news can also need therapy, because it is shrouded in anxiety, stress and feeling lonely because of false news.
The hoax phenomenon is a historical reality. Its existence often damages the harmony of social life.
Therefore it is time for us to work together to firmly fight the hoaks that can appear in our devices without knowing the time. Especially with some people with little education, they are certainly very vulnerable to misleading news.
Of course we all agree that hoaxes have become a national scourge that must be fought together. Because the impact is so massive and very detrimental to many parties, both in terms of reputation, materially, to the point of threatening lives.
The number of riots that have occurred in recent times, has become evidence that hoaks or hoaxes are indeed very dangerous in the context of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). This proves that the Hoax raises the potential for horizontal conflict in the community.
With the rapid development of technology, it was not only hoaks that could threaten the progress of the Indonesian nation. In addition to the Hoaks, we also cannot close our eyes to the spread of radical ideas that are massively spread in various circles, even to the realm of ministries.
Radical movements often recruit through various social media accounts. Their target is usually related to young people who will be brainwashed to be given the understanding of radicalism.
Radical organization movements like ISIS in Indonesia certainly need to be anticipated by all levels of society. The existence of radicalism in Indonesia is certainly very dangerous for the resilience of the Indonesian state if the community does not play a role in anticipating radicalism movements.
Meanwhile, Professor of the State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta, Azyumardi Azra revealed that the radical ideology that considers his understanding to be the most correct has also infiltrated secondary schools through teachers.
The survey results from the Islamic Studies and Peace Institute (LaKIP), led by Prof. Dr. Bambang Pranowo, who was also a Professor of Islamic sociology at UIN Jakarta in 2010, showed that nearly 50% of students agreed with radical actions.
The data also showed 25% of students and 21 teachers stated that Pancasila was no longer relevant. While 84.8% of students and 76.2% of teachers agreed with the application of Islamic law in Indonesia.
Abdullah Darraz as a researcher from the Maarif Institute, also said the weakening of the value of Pancasila and nationality in schools was directly proportional to the rise of radicalism.
Therefore it is important that the school environment plays an active role in efforts to prevent radicalism in the school environment, such as being active in carrying out flags and national holidays, and playing national compulsory songs before class time starts.
From this we have learned that the Hoax can be a threat to national unity, while radicalism fades nationalism and fosters anti-Pancasila attitude, if it is ignored, when will Indonesia advance?
