The Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) strongly condemned DKI Governor Anies Baswedan for being deemed pro-immoral. The protest arose because Anies allowed the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) event and gave an award to the Colosseum disco. After all, Anies was the main invitation of FPI in Reunion 212. This shows that Anies and FPI were not in line.
As we know, before in the grand reunion event some time ago, the governor of DKI Anies BAswedan was being hailed with various praises. In fact, they had proposed this name to be the country’s leader. The event which was held with pure claims from the political world at that time was instantly faded. When this organization and its followers seemed to provide some support for Anies to become the holder of power. Day by day, it seems that friendship between FPI and the Governor is fading. As the news was considered controversial and not in line with the vision of the Islamic mass organization.
No wonder the credibility of this controversial Islamic mass organization is still doubted by a number of parties. Because his statements related to the people he had supported seemed to be fickle. FPI who once claimed Anies as an intelligent, clean leader and in fact was now being protested at all costs in relation to the policies Anies implemented. Maybe not only Anies Baswedan, other figures who if influential in the world of politics, many experienced the same thing.
Previously, FPI suggested that Anies Baswedan be more intelligent and creative in carrying out his duties as regional head. Especially to improve the halal economy and improve human quality. In its statement of attitude, FPI considers that DWP is an entertainment program that provides opportunities for immoral activities. In addition, the event could potentially damage the younger generation because it was only an orgy and not useful.
FPI claims that if the young people who participate in this event will wear clothes with an open genitalia. Potential also to consume a variety of unlawful foods and drinks in these activities. While the policy of giving awards to the discotheque was considered by FPI not to be able to play a role in building the character of a faithful and pious community.
Even though FPI used to remind Anies that in 2017 she was supported by Muslims who wanted fundamental changes in the capital. These changes started from only pursuing high regional income, economic development, glamorous life which became an index of development that prioritized aspects of life that were religious and comfortable for all religions.
Because of that FPI pressured Anies to review the two policies that were rejected by FPI, namely granting permission for DWP activities and also disco awards. According to FPI, Anies should focus more on developing halal, cultural, religious, and historical tourism which is also quite potential in the Jakarta area.
FPI emphasized to Anies that Jakarta’s Muslims still put their trust in creating a capital city that prioritizes religiosity. In accordance with the history of Jakarta in the era of Fatahillah and Pitung which eradicated disobedience. Therefore, FPI suggested Anies to consult first with the scholars.
This statement of FPI’s attitude is said to have been signed by General Chairman Ahmad Sobri Lubis along with General Secretary Munarman, which was published by the FPI DPP on December 15, 2019 in Jakarta.
The root of this problem circulated when a photo of an award certificate given by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to the Colosseum discotheque. In the certificate, listed Colosseum received an award in the category of Club and Discotheque for the type of business Entertainment and Recreation. Under the certificate, an Ani’s signature was signed to validate the award.
It seems that Anies-FPI’s Definition of Friendship is on the edge. Those who are now not in line due to the pros and cons of the policies being implemented have made many people start to think about the work of Islamic Organizations and the Governor of DKI Jakarta. What would have been the aim of the Islamic mass organization to hail Anies Baswedan. In fact, to insinuate the government in order to highlight the name of Anies who is considered better in leading power.
Maybe FPI should be more observant in seeing various insights, the world is not just about the rhetoric as Anies said. Everything goes according to reality, because humans are essentially easy to change. However, it does not deny the accusation that FPI wants to exist in the world of politics with an alternative path “name” Anies Baswedan. But when the “hero” is judged to be deviant, it will be suppressed. FPI Oh FPI!
