A total of 64 shopping malls or shopping centers in DKI Jakarta are ready to operate ahead of the new normal implementation and a period of large-scale social restrictions that will end on June 4, 2020. That is as referred to Governor Regulation No. 489 of 2020 concerning the extension of large-scale social restrictions in Jakarta. This Governor Regulation states, the Governor of DKI Jakarta extended large-scale social restrictions for 14 days from 22 May 2020 to 4 June 2020. The extension of the large-scale social restrictions is the third time since it was first imposed last April.

Chairman of the Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association, Stefanus Ridwan said, as many as 64 malls in DKI Jakarta were ready to be opened on 5 and 8 June 2020 with strict operational procedure standards. All visitors will only be allowed to enter half the capacity of the mall as the implementation of the physical distancing protocol or keep a distance from others. In general, the standard operating procedures applied are still the same as before, such as limiting visitors, improving the hygiene and hygiene of shopping centers and requiring visitors and shopkeepers to use personal protective equipment. However, this time it will be watched more closely than before.
