The government continues to carry out Covid-19 control and supervision, even though cases are declining. During the pandemic we really have to be vigilant, including when there are fewer Corona cases because it doesn’t mean the situation is 100% safe considering the threat of a third wave of Corona can still occur.
This September and October 2021 we can breathe easy because Corona is more under control. If in July there was a surge of patients up to 50,000 people per day, then in a few weeks it was greatly reduced to only 700 per day. This achievement should not make us proud, instead we must increase our vigilance and supervision.
Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G Plate stated that the handling of the pandemic in Indonesia is improving and Covid cases have fallen by 25%. When compared to other countries in Southeast Asia, cases in Indonesia are low. Even when compared to quite developed countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
However, Minister Johnny added, the government will continue to control Corona by expanding vaccination coverage. It also helps its development in each region. The government also asks the public not to be complacent and euphoric, because the situation is not yet completely safe.
The government wants the decline in Corona cases to occur over a long period of time (not just 2-3 weeks) and consistently. Therefore, even though there is an easing of community activities (during PPKM level 1-3), they must still obey the health protocol. Soon Bali, Batam and Bintan will be opened. So that everything must be orderly, obey the procedures, and have quarantine management.
Corona supervision has indeed been tightened so that the tourism sector can be opened without an increase in Covid cases. To facilitate the control and supervision of Corona, all people must be vaccinated, especially for those who work in the tourism sector. Vaccination is mandatory and this is a plus point, because guests feel safe.
Apart from having to be vaccinated up to 2 times, hotel and tourist staff must obey the health procedures. They must also be alert to health protocols, such as checking the temperature with a thermal gun, and doing it on the forehead (not on the hands). It is also arranged so that there is no crowd, so at breakfast the food is delivered to the room (not buffet-style like before) and when going to swim, you must register before booking, so that the time is set.
Corona virus control and supervision must be carried out strictly, the goal is that we are completely safe from the Covid-19 virus. Moreover, this evil virus has mutated and finally became your variant. When a virus mutates, it becomes stronger, and to fight it, you must obey the procedures, increase immunity, and live a healthy lifestyle.
In addition, Corona surveillance is also carried out by dispersing the crowd. Large events such as wedding receptions have not been allowed, and if there is a violation, then the public may report it to the authorities. They will come to repel the masses.
Corona control is also carried out with prevention. For example, when the office is re-opened, employees are required to wear masks when working, not just when traveling. Children who have entered school are also required to wear masks (not just face shields), wash their hands, and keep their distance and not create crowds. So that only 50% of the class enters while the others just go to school the next day.
To avoid the third wave of Corona attacks, the government is getting stricter in monitoring and controlling the Covid-19 virus. The public is asked to obey the 10M process and not to take off their masks carelessly. In addition, tourism in Bali and several other places will be opened, but with strict conditions and must be vaccinated. The public is asked to remain disciplined in order to make tourism opening a success, because there is no new Corona cluster.
