Bali – Bali Province will host the Archipelagic and Islands States Forum (AIS) Summit on 10-11 October 2023.

Head of the AIS Forum Secretariat, Riny Modaso, explained that this AIS Forum High Level Conference was a mandate from the fourth ministerial level meeting of the AIS Forum which was held in Bali on December 5 2022.

Furthermore, according to the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in a cabinet meeting, he said that the AIS Forum Summit would be held on 10-11 October 2023 in Bali and would invite dozens of countries participating in the AIS forum.

He emphasized that one of the main focuses of the AIS Forum Summit was to discuss issues related to maritime affairs, including problems such as climate change which is causing sea levels to rise.

“The first to be faced with this problem are of course island and archipelagic countries. “This is where the AIS Forum sees that there needs to be a collective effort to overcome this issue,” said Riny.
