IKN Positive Impact on Kalimantan’s Development

The development of the National Capital City (IKN) has a positive impact on development in Kalimantan and in general for equitable development in Indonesia. Because slowly the government has begun to be free from the Java-centric concept of development paradigm.
To be able to achieve the ideals of realizing Indonesia as a large and developed country, it is indeed very important for this nation to be able to have a breakthrough and also a new agenda that kicks or dares to achieve the country’s progress. One of the big agendas has been initiated in the era of President Joko Widodo’s leadership, namely the development of the Nusantara IKN.
With the development of this IKN, it is not impossible that Indonesia will be faster in carrying out its progress, because the big concept used is Indonesia-centric development. This is the opposite of the concept of development that has continued to occur in the country which is only Javacentric or centered on the island of Java.
Precisely because of the very Java-centric development policy, then there are many very real social inequalities including economic disparities between people in Indonesia, especially those who are outside Java and those who live on the island of Java.
Remote areas that are far away are getting less and less attention and development from the government. However, everything has been trying to change since the arrival of President Jokowi, because the perspective of Javacentric development was trying to be dismantled by him.
Gradually, construction began to take place, even outside Java, which is a sight that could be said to be very rare in the era of Presidents before Jokowi. The community began to feel how the area was developed and developed.
Meanwhile, Member of the DPRD for North Penajam Paser Regency, Muhammad Bijak Ilhamdani, stated that the IKN built by the Government in Kalimantan will certainly contribute to the impact of development and the economy.
Therefore, he firmly supports the IKN development because he believes the impact will be very positive for the welfare of the community itself. Not only that, but this DPRD member also appealed to all local communities in particular, to be more prepared.
According to Muhammad Bijak, the self-preparedness carried out by all local East Kalimantan communities is very important in order to welcome the construction of the new Indonesian IKN. How not, because if the local community itself is very ready, then they will automatically get job opportunities and also very large business opportunities.
Of course, this is actually one of the things that the whole community really hopes for regarding the impact of the IKN development in East Kalimantan, because it will definitely be able to bring in a lot of jobs for the local community. However, the challenge they have to overcome is how in terms of human resources, they themselves have the readiness to equip themselves.
Because it will be useless, for example, they are local people but it turns out that there are still many future projects being carried out at IKN but absorbing workers from other regions or even from foreigners just because the community itself is lacking in self-preparation.
For that, Muhammad Bijak added that increasing local human resources is indeed a very important thing to do so that all local communities themselves are able to compete even in various sectors with other prospective workers, including how competition in the world of MSME players will certainly increase there.
So it is hoped that the trainings will be able to become one of the means in improving the quality of human resources, including if for MSME actors to be able to improve the quality of their production to how to do digital-based marketing.
Actually, the people of East Kalimantan themselves are currently filled with a fairly high sense of optimism, especially after a visit made directly by President Jokowi so that people increasingly hope that there will be an acceleration of the development of basic IKN infrastructure.
During the visit, the President stated that so far, the progress of IKN development has been very in line with expectations or expectations because so far everything is still on track and in accordance with progress. The latest information is that the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will soon carry out the construction of a state palace in the Central Government Core Area) KIPP IKN.
On another occasion, the Chairman of the Team of Governors for Accelerating Development Acceleration (TGUP3) of East Kalimantan, Adi Buhari Muslim stated that there were many positive impacts that could even be seen from various sectors as well as regarding the development of IKN in East Kalimantan.
It is undeniable that the IKN development initiated by the Jokowi government is able to bring a series of very positive impacts for development in Indonesia, especially in Kalimantan itself. One of them is about health with clean water and the construction of dams, road infrastructure, bridges, toll roads, bay conservation and so on.
