Ahead of the election, competition between candidates, success teams and sympathizers is getting stronger, this is marked by the emergence of various identity politics and Islamic symbols. The movement in the name of Islamic organizations is also quite widespread ahead of the election. Muhaimin Iskandar said that the dynamics of Islam that occurred in this political year were still quite conducive. As long as there is no siltation and political drought. In this case it is not afraid to lose and not afraid to win. Both parties, both winners and losers, must be able to restrain themselves so as not to pose a threat to the integrity of the nation and state.
Former Muhammadiyah General Chairperson Buya Syafii Maarif also asked politicians who competed in the 2019 election contest to be ready to lose and be ready to win. However, Buya sees that the current political conditions tend to reflect that politicians do not have the readiness to lose in the upcoming elections.

He also added that the democratic system adopted by Indonesia is a system that educates everyone to be patient. If you don’t like someone or a government regime, then be patient and wait by not choosing it again in the next election.
“It’s good for a democratic system with all its weaknesses,” said Buya.
The situation that is heating up ahead of the April 17 2019 elections is commonplace, as long as it is not accompanied by physical fights or shocks that can trigger divisions. This is because it refers to the third precept, namely Indonesian unity, which must be practiced in daily life, not only because of different choices, brotherhood becomes tenuous.
“It’s fighting over, that power is indeed fierce, but actually the power is led by its moral reference,” concluded Buya Syafii Maarif.
On a different occasion, the Chairperson of the KPU Arief Budiman hoped that all organizers of the 2019 election would be able to complete their duties in a transparent, accountable and integrity manner.
“The message is to all election organizers to complete their duties by adhering to professional working principles that are transparent, responsible and integrity,” Arief said.
To all election participants, Arief also reminded them not to carry out campaign activities in a calm period. Meanwhile to the voters, the KPU also called for participation in the voting and counting process as well as recapitulation to the determination of national election results.

Ready to win and be ready to lose, is a legitimate attitude that must be possessed by anyone who will compete, losing does not mean being unable to participate in building the nation, and if winning does not mean being swept away in political euphoria, because there is a mandate from the people to fight for.
