Polemic differences in ethnicity, race, ethnicity and religion kept rolling and always raises new problems in Indonesia. This paradigm show Thar the Indonesian people forget the main purpose of the nation’s independence. Since the days of independence, Indonesia was not formed only because the struggle of the Javanese, Sundanese, Malay. Indonesia formed because the struggle of multiracial and multiethnic, which means Indonesia is formed as mutually enhance diversity to be a strong nation.
Seventy years of Indonesian independence, this nation is still trapped and fragmented by differences in ethnicity, race, ethnicity and religion. Each group feels more superior than others, and there are also groups who feel oppressed and not bound in nation. The presence of separatist movements such as the Free Papua Organization describe how this nation fragmented . These extremist groups often commit acts of violence and killing of innocent people by the government. They feel neglected by the government so as to think that Indonesia only javanese people.
Physically, Papuans (Melanesians) are very much different from the Javanese race. Javanese race is brown-skinned and straight hair, while the Melanesian race black and curly hair. This issue is utilized by non goverment Organization (NGO) Duc as United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) to request support from Melanesian Countries in The Pacific (Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomon Island, Fiji and New Caledonia). They also claim that Indonesian goverment committed human rights violations against Melanesian in Papua. And for them, the only justice for Melanesian In Papua is an Independence for West Papua.
Through this movement and issues that is raised by Benny Wenda group looks for racism. This attitude arises because of the selfish and individualistic. The characteristic of which is very dangerous because he has been spreading the virus of racism and narrow logic logic to influence those people who are considered Melanesians. A nation will be very easy to split with this racism. He could see the wider world, the American people alone can be a great nation but has ethnically quite diverse. Are these groups really want to get ahead or just to sacrifice the interests of the future of Papua with racist attitudes.
