CIDISS. Many assumptions are related to the government of President Joko Widodo, even this assumption is more dominated by bad assumptions, especially when newly elected as a president. Many people judge that Joko Widodo will not be able to deliver remarkable achievements. In fact, some parties dare to judge the figure of Joko Widodo will not be able to give firmness in the realization of a policy. However, the assumption is wrong.

Based on the Indobarometer survey indirectly shows that Joko Widodo is the most successful president of leading Indonesia. Indo Barometer’s survey results recorded 32.9 percent of respondents chose Soeharto as the most successful president. The second and third order followed by Soekarno who selected 21.3 percent of respondents and Joko Widodo selected 17.8 respondents. Meanwhile, the fourth and fifth positions are occupied by Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (elected 11.6 percent of respondents) and BJ Habibie (selected 3.5 percent of respondents).

However, it can be said that the achievement of the three presidents of Indonesia, namely Soeharto, Soekarno and Jokowi, can not be equated. This is because the three presidents have different leadership periods. Soeharto became president for 32 years and Sukarno became president for 22 years. While Joko Widodo is currently not completing one of his leadership periods, which is 5 years. When viewed from the comparison of the leadership period, it can be said that Joko Widodo is the most successful president in leading Indonesia. But if not seen on the basis of such comparison, Joko Widodo is still the top for defeating the acquisition of other post-reform president.

The high respondents who chose Joko Widodo as the best president because Joko Widodo able to do massive development, especially in terms of infrastructure. This development also broke public opinion that massive development is difficult to be realized in a democratic government because there are a number of interests and so on. However, Joko Widodo’s reign as president proves that this assumption is wrong and provides the view that even democratic governments are able to build the country.
