Jokowi’s Allegations PKI Is Not Logical, Beware of Slander and Hoaxes Before the 2019 Election

Presidential Candidate Petahana Joko Widodo again reminded the public not to trust hoax and slander that were spread ahead of the 2019 election. Jokowi considered that hoaxes were circulating in the community, news of slander, and false news. He continued, Jokowi said, hoaxes, slander, false news had been widely spread through social media and directly spread from house to house. The party advised the public to be careful with various false news circulating ahead of the simultaneous elections in April.
Jokowi gave an example of the circulation of rumors that attacked him when he was re-elected, such as religious education would be removed, banned azan, legalized same-sex marriage had circulated in the community.
“It is impossible, whoever the president is impossible to do, because Indonesia is a country with strong religious norms, strong cultural norms, ethical norms and strong manners,” he said.
He also denied the false news that attacked him, where there was news that had come to the public that Jokowi was part of the PKI. He said, “Where is the PKI toddler? I was born in 1961, the PKI rebellion in 1965. But there are those who believe, so Jokowi answered the accusation firmly.

Regarding hoaxes, the ITE Law has also been used by law enforcers to handle it. TNI General Presidential Chief of Staff (Ret.) Dr. Moeldoko said, there were many criticisms and questions to the government about the economy, infrastructure, social issues and others. Unfortunately some criticisms are used to be hoaxes or false news.
He said that the hoax countermeasures carried out together with the community. There must be awareness in selecting news. Hoax problems are not a trivial problem because they can lead to nationwide breakdown and pessimism about the future of the nation.
“The hoax problem cannot only be resolved by the government, the need for mutual awareness for this situation respondent is cautious so that it can make a difference between hoaxes and criticism, so that it will not bring us into a pessimistic nation,” said Moeldoko.
Hoax problems must be dealt with seriously and the country must firmly take action against hoaxes that are spread throughout the country according to law and regulation. In response to hoaxes that come from criticism, the government has a special team to explore problems so that they can be handled immediately. Moeldoko stressed that we must remain optimistic about the government. “The government has now proven to have achievements for the nation,” he said
In suppressing government hoaxes, they were not playing games. On previous occasions the Cyber Crime Bareskrim Team of the Indonesian Police had succeeded in capturing Jundi, the owner of a number of Instagram accounts which allegedly often spread hoaxes and utterances of hatred. The police stated that Jundi had several times distributed copies in the form of accusations that President Jokowo was a PKI follower. Jundi produces the hoax content himself in his account. He claimed to create hate speech content because he was unable to deal with life problems that made him restless.
For his actions, the Police ensnared him with the Electronic Information and Transaction law, Law Number 40 concerning the elimination of Racial and Ethnic Discrimination with the threat of a maximum sentence of 6 years in prison or a maximum fine of Rp. 1 Billion.
