Let’s Stand Together Reject the Homeland of Sharia

Ijtima ’Ulama 4 in one of its decisions seemed to demand the realization of the concept of NKRI Sharia. It certainly can also cause controversy and make opposition to these decisions / ideas.

The concept of Sharia NKRI proposed by Ijtima Ulama 4 is likely to only be a trick. The offer was clearly not considered by the government. Because our country is not an Islamic state, ideology is also clear, so there is no place for ideology other than Pancasila.

            This means that if there is an ideology that is contrary to Pancasila, it must be opposed. Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko also said that Indonesia was not a country whose ideology resulted from the Ulema’s Ijtima. Indonesia is a country based on law, where there is a constitution, the 1945 Constitution, Perpres and other regulations, so why do you want to make a new concept?

            The rejection of NKRI Syariah also came from PPP politician Arsul Sani, who said no party could change the ideology and form of the state.

            He said Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, Bhineka Tunggal Ika and NKRI had been agreed as a national consensus. Where all four are the pillars of the nation that are final.

            If anyone wants to spawn a new ideology, it is fitting to question again, where you live, realize that Indonesia stands on the struggle of various ethnic groups and religions. All these differences are united to make Indonesia independent.

            So the ideology that is final cannot be tampered with or changed through Ijtima Ulama. Indonesia is a nation that has various tribes and religions, of course what is the concept of the Unitary Sharia NKRI appears to have been rejected.

            If we do not reject or be flexible about the threat, then sooner or later that idea can undermine the state’s ideology.

            The concept of the Republic of Homeland which is echoed is no doubt a cover for the sake of enforcing the Khilafah system in Indonesia.

            Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Dr. Haedar Nashir also spoke out related to the proposal of Ijtima Ulama, he considered that the concept of the Homeland is currently loaded with sharia values. Therefore, he requested that there be no more contradictions in the term sharia in the midst of society.

            The purpose of sharia itself is included in it, namely Pancasila. So that there are no more idioms, symbols and ideas that increasingly alienate the Homeland from his soul, just because he thinks about names, attributes, shells and skin issues.

            Of course, the concept of NKRI Sharia which was initiated by Ijtima Ulama 4 is something that is actually not necessary.

            Meanwhile Chairperson of the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI), Jimly Asshidique, considered that Ijtima Ulama IV’s recommendation did not need to be taken seriously.

            Jimly then linked the recommendations of Ijtima Ulama IV to the results of the 2019 election. He also believed that things that arose after the election would subside on their own.

            Ijtima Ulama 4 which combines the phrase Pancasila with sharia, is certainly a dangerous thing for the survival of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia.

            We must realize that the concept of the Indonesian state is now very ideal and has a Pancasila foundation that cannot be contested.

            Especially if we realize it, Pancasila is enough to be the basis that encapsulates diversity in Indonesia. Pancasila is precisely the basis and national agreement that allows all religious communities in Indonesia.

            In addition, Pancasila has also accommodated all differences in all religions and beliefs so that all parties can carry out their religious practices and beliefs.

            Rohaniawan Franz Magnis Suseno said that his party supported the implementation of sharia by the community as long as it was only for himself, not for the ideology of the nation that had been formulated by Indonesia’s founding father. This means that the concept of NKRI Bersyariah is merely a cover for implementing the concept of khilafah in Indonesia.

            According to PKB politician Abdul Karding, the emergence of the concept of the Islamic Republic of Indonesia as an impact of political euphoria during the presidential and regional head elections. If this NKRI Sharia is realized, then Ijtima Ulama 4 is the most real politicization of religion.

            We certainly agree that religion does not need to be brought up in politics, but it is religious values ​​that should be used as guidelines in our daily lives.
