Related to this, many parties have realized that Indonesia must reunite so that development in Indonesia can be continued optimally. One of the parties calling for unity is the Indonesian Council of Professors.
The Indonesian Professors Council Forum called for unity and unity for all elements of the nation after the 2019 Election. This message was conveyed following tensions in the community which recently emerged after the General Election Commission announced the results of the 2019 Election recapitulation on May 21, 2019. After the demonstration that took place in Jakarta on May 21, 2019, there were mass anarchist groups.
Riots broke out, and the unknown mass group also clashed with police officers at a number of points. As a result, the riots were a national concern and were broadcast live by a number of television stations. The peace message was also conveyed because of a sense of concern for the disturbed national unity, precisely after the democratic party took place.
According to the professors, the division of the nation should no longer exist, because the General Election Commission has determined the results of its recapitulation. Meanwhile, the camp that did not accept the decision had responded constitutionally by bringing it to the Constitutional Court.
Differences in political choice in society are natural things that happen every election is held. However, it is expected that all parties can promote the unity and unity of Indonesia based on the values of honesty, fairness and high integrity, and do not justify any means to achieve the desired goals.
