He said in a meeting with the transportation ministry, it was found that they were very supportive of the implementation of PON in Papua. In fact, they have been waiting for the Papua Provincial Government to provide input.
Therefore, the Director General of Transportation or Land Transport and Moda in the near future is suspected to form a team to go directly to Papua. This team will coordinate with the Department of Transportation in the context of land transportation needs to support the holding of the National Sports Week in Papua.
Not only that, this team will ensure that all PON transport service operations are running as they should. The reason they have committed will be to help Papua to succeed in the implementation of this event.
In addition to the matter of the fleet, the institution’s concern when implementing the PON is traffic jams when the four-yearly event is being held. Therefore, the Ministry of Transportation ensures that it will assist the Department of Transportation in terms of traffic engineering arrangements, at least in the five PON holding clusters.
