Poco-Poco Dance Breaks World Record Welcoming 2018 Asian Games
CIDISS. Mass Poco-poco dance Today broke the Guinness World Record world record for welcoming the Asian Games which will open on the next 18th August in Indonesia, held at Monas Crossing and all Car Free Day, until Senayan Roundabout, precisely at Jendral Sudirman Street – MH Thamrin Central Jakarta.
Poco-poco was attended by around 65000 people from various elements and was guided by around 1500 poco-poco dance guides, attended by President Jokowi Widodo accompanied by First Lady Iriana Jokowi, Vice President Jusuf Kalla, a number of Ministers in the Cabinet including the Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Naharwi, Coordinating Minister for Puan Maharani Development and Culture, Social Minister Idrus Marham, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, DKI Jakarta Governor Anis Baswedan, National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian, TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, as well as a number of State officials, The dancer danced for 10 minutes to break the record.
“This time Indonesia has made a big history, Poco-Poco has entered the Guiness World Records, of course this is the pride of all of us”, said the Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi, Sunday (5/8/18).
For information, the Poco-Poco Record-breaking was initiated by First Lady Iriana Jokowi as the organization’s formation of the Working Cabinet (OASE) Era Solidarity Action, which is expected to preserve Indonesian indigenous culture and improve the national Tourism Industry, through cultural recreational sports that are increasingly developing in the middle the community.
Raden Isnanta, Deputy for Sports Civilization, said: “The government views a strategic record-breaking, not just a record but can make the world community amazed by Indonesia.” He also thanked all those who helped with the Poco-poco event and all the Organizers who have prepared it carefully, he chose Poco-Poco because it was known to all Indonesian people.
