Reconciliation and Efforts to Maintain Political Balance

With the end of the 2019 Presidential Election drama in the form of presidential choices and legislative choices, tensions between camps should have begun to subside, until finally reaching equilibrium.
But the balance must be achieved through various stages, one of which is the reconciliation that has taken place between Prabowo and Jokowi in the MRT. The hope of the community for reconciliation was finally achieved, the media also gave the two figures the spotlight, cool, peaceful as if without any grudge between the two.
The meeting was proof that Jokowi always maintained friendships with Prabowo, who was his political rival, the former mayor of Surakarta had already demonstrated a true meaning of victory.
Whereas Prabowo has shown a good attitude of statesmanship, he is also proven to obey all the decisions of the Constitutional Court and not mobilize the masses when the Court reads its verdict.
But the problem is, there are still many parties who are drugged by power spells. Like a traveler who feels thirsty in the desert. Some groups want to taste the sweetness of the cake of power.
At present almost in all democracies apply the concept of Trias Politica, both in the form of division and separation of powers. In general, power can be divided into several functions, namely the legislative, judicial and executive but with different nuances.
Executive power can be held by the king, president or prime minister. Judicial power by the Supreme Court or the like. Legislative power in parliament can be divided into lower house and lower house with various variations.
In England we know the House of Lord and the House of Commons. In the United States there is a Congress consisting of the House of Representatives and the Senate. While in the Netherlands we know Eerste Kamer and Tweede Camera.
The practice of Trias Politika in Indonesia is quite unique. While for executives we only know the president, different from the legislature and the judiciary. In the legislature we have the House of Representatives, the Regional Representative Council and the People’s Consultative Assembly. While for the judiciary we have the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court. At that institution with the judiciary as an exception for many politicians who are interested in playing there.
Apart from the Presidential Election drama, legislative candidates also often pour out a lot of budget for campaign capital to be able to feel seats in parliament, starting from debt with guaranteed land certificates, or borrowing relatives for printing campaign props.
Competition is also very tight, sometimes even parties that have not succeeded in getting their cadres to get seats in the DPR. This failure turned out to have a psychological impact on the candidate who felt that the money had run out. As a result they finally got serious psychiatric care because they felt shocked at his failure.
For those who managed to sit in the DPR seats, of course, aside from accommodating and conveying the aspirations of the people, some of them had also formed political contracts with several groups who had provided support to them.
With various existing projects, the game of the members of the DPR will begin so that the coffers of the rupiah which have become the capital of the campaign can return to their pockets. So if they have been involved in corruption and caught by the KPK, they will still calmly wave to the media crew even though they have worn orange suits.
If it’s like that, who is the victim? Of course the people voted for him, because he felt the chosen candidate did not carry out the mandate properly.
In addition, the issue of disunity still arises even though Prabowo and Jokowi have met, and hugged each other. However, the split was in Prabowo’s own camp, where some of his supporters had accepted defeat, while some of his other supporters considered that Prabowo was a traitor, this would certainly only silence political stability in Indonesia.
Even though the Election was finished a few months ago, the KPU and the MK both decided on the victory for Jokowi. Prabowo has also stated that he is ready to take part in building Indonesia by becoming an opposition. Because after all opposition is still needed for political balance.
In the context of politics, balance politics is played out by dividing posts in these institutions among them. Practical politics is oriented towards power which is considered normal, but the balance created there should not shock the people because their fate is kicked.
