The 212 Alumni (PA) Brotherhood intends to hold the 212 Reunion again on December 2, 2019 in the Monas Area. The program was considered irrelevant because prayer and prayer can be held in their respective regions without the need to come to Jakarta. The arrival of large masses from various regions to Jakarta only caused a heap of rubbish and community mobility, so it was not excessive if the 212 Reunion was considered to be of minimal benefit. General Chairman of the National Movement for Fatwa Ulama Guards (GNPF-Ulama) Yusuf Martak claimed permission for Munajat and Maulid Akbar Reunion activities Mujahid 212 already bagged. He said, the 212 Alumni committee already holds a notification permit from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police and Monas management.
“All permits are clear, thank God. From the notification to the authorities and to Monas everything is thank God, it’s all,” Martak said when met at the MUI office, Jakarta, Tuesday (11/19/2019). As contained in tirto.id.
Despite having pocketed the Permit, the Committee still continues to collect budget funds for the 212 alumni reunion event which will be held on December 2, 2019.
However, it seems that the planned Reunion 212 planned to be held on December 2, 2019, is lacking in interest. As ever, the agenda is always thick with political overtones, considering that this time it only invited DKI Governor Anies Baswedan, without Prabowo Subianto who is now in the Government circle.
Muhammadiyah PP Chairperson Haedar Nasir once said that Muhammadiyah would not be sure to join the grand reunion conducted by alumni 212. Muhammadiyah considered that the 212 reunion did not provide much benefit to the community.
According to Haedar, reunion 17/8/1945 which referred to the independence date of the Republic of Indonesia, was far more beneficial for the community. Independence reunion is also considered to be able to revive the spirit of independence.
From this statement, it certainly shows that the benefits or usefulness of the reunion 212 are still being questioned, moreover political issues are always blurted out, of course we both know that in the future Habib Rizieq will come to the reunion, the sound system will be made whining over his speech. far from the impression of cool, hurling hatred can also be said lightly.
Haedar added, that currently the people of Indonesia need things that are more useful. Therefore, his party will not join the grand reunion. Haedar said, his party chose to do more positive activities, which provide benefits for many people.
In some social media, various memes circulate to invite people to attend the PA 212 reunion, but on the other side also circulated a lot of memes that voiced rejection of the plan. Among the several memes in circulation, it is said, Rizieq Shihab will attend the reunion. It seems that the initiator of the PA 212 reunion also quoted the opinion of E Knowles in the Journal of Personality which said, the greater the mass that joined the greater the “passion” that they managed to create to voice their aspirations. So it is natural for militants to spread memes and other activities so that the moment of December 2 can be carried out as well as they hoped (although not all Muslims agree on the urgency of the PA 212 reunion).
Chairperson of the Ansor Youth Movement, Yaqut Cholil Quomas, assessed that the FPI High Priest Habib Rizieq should not be forced to go back to Indonesia. Yaqut said that Rizieq deliberately went to Mecca, Saudi Arabia because of his own volition. Therefore, Rizieq should have returned to his homeland of his own volition. He also advised Rizieq to pay an overstayed fine in Mecca in Saudi Arabia so that he could easily return to Indonesia.
This shows that the benefits or usefulness of the reunion 212 are still being questioned, moreover political issues are always blurred out, of course we both know that in the future Habib Rizieq will come to the reunion, the sound system will be made whining over his lecture that is far from being impressed from his impression. cool, hurling hatred can also be said lightly.
It seems that the initiators of the PA 212 reunion need to pay close attention to Edmund Burke’s indication. In his book entitled “Reflections on the Revolution in France”, Edmund Burke asserted, if democracy is defined as freedom, then freedom must not interfere with the freedom of others, because the interests of others are human rights.
Meanwhile, in the current national situation, the Indonesian people need more useful things compared to coming to Jakarta which only causes a pile of rubbish and disturbs the activities of the surrounding community, so it is not excessive if Reunion 212 on December 2, 2019 begins to be questioned about its benefits.

Besides that, the initiator of PA 212 reunion must also be aware that mass gatherings are also prone to cause anarchist actions, because the nature of the mass gathered in large numbers tends to decrease their responsibilities. This was stated by a number of foreign scientists such as Leon Festinger in Human Relations said, the interactive togetherness of humans in a mass group has the potential to cause the phenomenon of de-individualization or decreased “responsibility” of each individual. Meanwhile, Theodore Newcombe in The Aquitance Process said, the combination of “excitement” with “decreased” sense of responsibility is easy to ignite the masses to forget their social norms and carry out destructive actions. Meanwhile, Irving Janis in Groupthink said, it would be difficult for the individuals in it to not dissolve with group actions. In fact, if it causes anarchist action, besides the initiator of PA 212 reunion will face legal mechanisms, on the other hand it will reduce the image of Islam in Indonesia. Therefore, there is no relevance in holding PA 212 reunion, because “there are no political issues that can be sold”. Hopefully.
