The 212 grand reunion on 2 December is still reaping rejection. This shows that Reunion 212 did not receive public appreciation.
Reunion 212 seems so steep. Rejection for the sake of rejection came like a swift flood. The action which was considered to have political content was suggested not to be continued. Not only political matters, this Reunion is considered to echo the understanding of the Khilafah, which is clearly not in accordance with the ideology of Pancasila.
Citizens are now beginning to be smart in filtering out news, because they have been able to distinguish activities that have the potential to trigger chaos like this 212 Reunion. They also began to understand what was about being carried by social organizations 212 in the event. No doubt, the masses staged their demonstration to reject the whole series of events including offending the Khilafah understanding held by 212.
According to reports, the mass calling themselves the Indonesian Guard Movement (GJI) arrived at Jl Medan Merdeka Utara, Gambir, Central Jakarta, at 14.39 WIB. GJI Field Commander (Danlap), Bramyand Manaloc, who was in the command car, then delivered his speech. He stated that Indonesia only had red and white flags and that no other flags could fly, including the black flag.
He also requested that the reunion permit be revoked immediately, refusing HRS return to support the dissolution of FPI. He also supported the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, to be firm. The GJI crowd also expressed the same reason, namely, the reunion 212 had political content and was considered to cause intolerance.
He added that the presence of the Khilafah ideology fought for by certain groups through political intolerance and radicalism in the name of religion in order to realize the Islamic Republic of Indonesia was clearly contrary to the ideals of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence on August 17, 1945. Therefore, all Indonesian citizens were without exception obliged to refuse all forms of ideas, methods, and any form of association with the understanding of the Khilafah.
Rejection of the 212th Reunion also came from the Sunan Kalijaga Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta. Sunan Kalijaga Ponpes Caregiver Friction Yogya Beny Susanto said that although the packaging of the event was titled Munajat and Maulid Akbar, he chose to be absent or send representatives. Beny said that he was doubtful of the motives behind the action.
Beny did not dispute the possibility that there really was a positive side and benefit or almaslahah wan naf’u in the 212 reunion. But he still refused because he saw more other considerations that were more maslahah and useful. He appealed that the students do not need to attend the event. According to him the most important thing is, how is more important to do pilgrimage and birth 2019 in prayer rooms, mosques, boarding schools and their respective places.
He asserted that there was a more important jihad after the 2019 elections, namely knitting brotherhood and national unity, basyariah ukhuwah and ukhuwah wathoniyah. He said if religions teach more respect for humanity and dedication to God Almighty than social breakdown on the basis of interest groups, politics and groups.
Previously, this reunion of 212 was banned because it was still indicated to slip the political side in it. Not only has it deviated from the original intention of upholding justice in the blasphemy case. However, this volume 3 reunion event turned out to have a joint prayer agenda whose contents still quipped about politics. It is not impossible if the program that presents HRS as a central figure will again show its existence, by gathering the former 212 years in advance.
Presumably the rejection of the reunion was true. Considering, the high priest HRS was so critical of the government. In fact, previously dared to provoke to overthrow the government. Not to mention other problems that accompany it. So it was only natural for the masses to reject the essence of the event. The masses are also now more critical of things that smell of negative propaganda that are pointing towards politics. In fact, PA 212 has claimed that this reunion was purely a missed meeting and aimed to commemorate the Prophet’s Birthday. PA 212’s wishy-washy impression was also reflected in a statement stating that it would not involve political figures, but would still present it to enliven the stage of the event. Of course, as Muslims do not want to, the sacred intentions of religion are shrouded in worldly politics.
