Success of Jokowi – JK Government
CIDISS. When talking about the Jokowi-JK Government, of course the first thing that people remember is about their hard work. That certainly has positive results for the community.
At the age of three years of his administration, Jokowi-JK has succeeded in accelerating the development in various fields. The Jokowi-JK government managed to make positive breakthroughs that were able to build Indonesia. According to the results of a survey conducted by one of the survey institutions, for three years, the governments of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla were most successful in seeing infrastructure development being faster.
Of the respondents who answered, 51.3 percent answered that the success of President Joko Widodo’s leadership was in the field of infrastructure, then the citizens became more prosperous 6.3 percent, corruption was reduced by 4.9 percent. After infrastructure, community satisfaction under the leadership of Jokowi-JK is the eradication of corruption. As many as 63.1 percent agreed and there were 23.6 percent who did not agree on this.
Over the past three years, many changes have been felt by people outside Java, especially in eastern Indonesia. Papuans who used to have to buy fuel oil (BBM) at fantastic prices, are now able to enjoy BBM at the same price as Java through the one-price BBM Program. Residents on remote islands such as Miangas Island or Liran Island who have lived in the dark for decades, are now bright.
Economic equality promoted by the government cannot be separated from infrastructure development that continues to be boosted. The domino effect of infrastructure projects built by the Jokowi-JK government is very large, especially to boost the economy.
In addition, Jokowi-JK has built many new roads, either non-toll arterial roads or toll roads. The government also has a program to build 35 thousand megawatts (MW) and a number of other development sectors such as airports, sea tolls, and housing. That’s in terms of infrastructure. From the macro side, Jokowi-JK has also done many things. The simplest thing is that the Jokowi-JK government calls economic growth, poverty levels, unemployment rates, income gap for the poor and rich (gini ratio), and inflation recorded positive results.
Jokowi is also known to be brave to make phenomenal decisions. Not even a year in the lead, Jokowi-JK revoked the fuel subsidy for Premium. In addition, Jokowi also revoked electricity subsidies for several groups of capable customers. Although the policy reaped the pros and cons, Jokowi-JK allocated a budget of subsidies that amounted to hundreds of trillions of rupiah for more productive matters.
