Indonesia has officially made Jokowi and Ma’ruf Amin as the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia until the year 2024. This success is of course thanks to the people of Indonesia who chose them in the 2019 presidential election. We should certainly support this result for the realization of national ideals.
Support for Jokow-Ma’ruf Amin was also present from the party which had previously been an opponent of his coalition. Where the Former 6th President of Indonesia who is also the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) expressed support for the president and vice president-elect.
He also invited the people of Indonesia to provide opportunities and support to new leaders and governments to be successful in carrying out the mandate of the people. SBY called for democracy in Indonesia to be better for a pluralistic nation, according to him the political system that adheres to a multiparty democratic system must be more unified, inclusive and sheltering.
He considered, building a good government is a continuous agenda from one leader to another. He said that nation and state development is not an instant job, but requires continuous work. The challenge that will be carried out by Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin in the next 5 years is certainly quite heavy. External factors of the world are changing rapidly, be they political, economic, social, cultural.
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said that he was ready to support the Jokowi-Ma’ruf government from the region. As Governor, he ensured that development in Central Java would be in line with the vision and mission of Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin. He believes that the figure of Ma’ruf Amin has the experience and capabilities that are qualified in carrying out the mandate with Jokowi.
In supporting elected government, of course we cannot bring feelings to the incumbent election for the next 5 years, the Presidential Election was completed a few months ago. By providing support to the elected government, it means that we are ready to collaborate to develop Indonesia in order to realize national ideals.
As was done by the IMM Muhammadiyah Student Association Alumni Family Forum. The Chairman of the IMM National Gathering, Ton Abdillah Has stated, the final outcome of the meeting was to fully support the Jokowi’s administration’s efforts to carry out the vision and mission of realizing an advanced Indonesia. Ton Abdilah stated that his party agreed to support and be ready to collaborate with the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin government to realize the great vision of Forward Indonesia.
In addition, he also reminded that realizing an advanced Indonesia is not an easy problem, many threats and challenges will be faced by Jokowi-Ma’ruf in his period. These threats include the strengthening of a structured society, where the realization of developed countries is the existence of a high trust society that is full of tolerance.
Another problem is that Indonesia is still faced with low quality human resources. The Human Development Index (HDI) is still in the middle level. Even though the prerequisite to being a developed country is that it must have very high human development. This shows that, although there are many problems in Indonesia, support to the government must also be done, because it is not possible for the government to act as a single fighter in dealing with the problems that exist in Indonesia.
Concretely, the government has the power to do something, but it is the people who have the ideas, and the ideas for changing Indonesia become more advanced. For the sake of the nation’s progress, all differences that could polarize during the simultaneous elections must be removed, we already have a President who is democratically elected and constitutionally recognized.
Difference is a necessity, but it is the sense of unity of difference that will make Indonesia stronger. Political elites have reduced their tension after the election until the inauguration, of course, not to be provoked by the news that tends to invite to oppose the government, lest we be competed by certain groups who have not been able to move on from the electoral that has passed.
We certainly already know, Jokowi’s coalition opponents had previously been legowo and congratulated Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin, so why are we still making a fuss? While the Government is facing complex problems over this nation. The concrete step in supporting the current government is, by embodying an attitude of tolerance towards differences for the sake of the realization of a sense of unity in Indonesia, it is sufficient to assist the government in overcoming the country’s problems.
