OPM is an organization that always causes chaos, so that they can succeed in liberating Papua. This very wrong ideal made the TNI even more incessant in arresting him. In addition, there is a suggestion that the OPM be changed its status to a terrorist organization, because they have committed terror against the community many times.

Papua is a region that is gifted with great natural wealth and mining products by God. Unfortunately this Papuan specialty makes many parties want to take it from Indonesia. They use OPM to create the Federal Republic of West Papua. When successful, they will extract wealth secretly and manipulate the helpless people.

Apart from carrying out a separatist movement, the OPM has also committed atrocities in various ways, from shooting to arson. It is not surprising that Efriza, Executive Director of the Center for Humanitarian Studies and Development, asked the government to designate the OPM as a terrorist organization. Because they always carry out astonishing acts of terror.

Efriza continued, when voicing resistance to the state, OPM always acts like a terrorist, and has claimed many victims. Starting from the security forces, immigrants, to civilians. In a sense, terrorist-style actions have deeply troubled many people.

There are almost countless atrocities committed by the OPM. Starting from killing civilians for no reason and accusing the perpetrators of being the security forces, shooting at a car belonging to the TNI, to using his or her ethnic group as “life shields” when carrying out attacks. Finally, they burned the missionary plane at Intan Jaya.

If the OPM is categorized as a terrorist organization, the handling will be assisted by the BNPT (Counter-Terrorism Agency). So that the search for their hiding places will be more structured and the dissolution will be carried out quickly. BNPT will work quickly and carry out OPM eradication missions with the right target.

If there is assistance from BNPT, the OPM will disappear from Bumi Cendrawasih. There are no more organizations that worry the community, because their members have surrendered. By December 1, civilians were no longer worried, because they were not forced to participate in celebrating the OPM anniversary and raising the Morning Star flag.

According to Efriza, apart from committing terrorism, OPM also rejects the extension of special autonomy. Therefore they continue to terrorize, in order to show their prowess in front of the apparatus, who are the representatives of the central government. The goal is to cancel volume 2 of special autonomy because it could interfere with Papuan independence.

In fact, the special autonomy program is very good because it provides infrastructure and other facilities to Papua. In Bumi Cendrawasih there is Sentani International Airport, Youtefa Bridge which is planned to be connected to the sea highway, and others. So that people’s lives will be more advanced.

This is what OPM doesn’t think about. Because according to them Indonesia was a colonizer. Whereas there were invaders who were willing to give up to billions of rupiah in funds? They were hurried with emotions, refused to do so, then shot the authorities to release their anger. What an unwise move, and if caught could be a criminal case.

Hopefully President Jokowi’s government will listen to Efriza’s suggestion so that the eradication of the OPM, KKSB and their henchmen is truly effective. Because the problem of separatism in Papua is chronic, starting from the New Order era until now. If there is no OPM, the community will be happy. Because they can live in harmony, peace, safety, and are no longer afraid of their terror.

OPM can be categorized as a terrorist organization because they carry out arson, shootings, and even killings. Terrorism-style cruelty makes them have to be eradicated right now. Assistance from BNPT will make OPM quickly eradicate, and people’s lives will be safe, prosperous and safe.
