President Jokowi has not yet determined who will be the authority in IKN. However, the public accepts whoever becomes the authority, because they believe that the president will choose the best person.
The relocation of the nation’s capital city to Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, is still in the process of being prepared. In addition to preparations from the infrastructure and financial fields, other preparations are those who will be the authorities there. People are already buzzing, who will take the leadership role? The reason is because as a new area there are many new challenges too.
In a few days President Jokowi will announce who will be the leader in the new nation’s capital. He said that the authority was not only good at leading and managing the region, but was also active in international relations. The reason is because later in IKN there will be a lot of potential that can be offered to investors, so it takes someone who has many relationships abroad.
The public fully supports President Jokowi’s decision to elect a new authority in North Penajam Paser. The reason is because he must have chosen the best person who can be good at leading a new area and at the same time advancing it. The reason is because there will be many challenges at IKN.
The first challenge in Penajam Paser Utara is adaptation to the native people of Borneo. Leaders, staff, and ASN are immigrants to East Kalimantan. So as new people, they position themselves to respect the natives there and build good relationships. But he doesn’t need to worry because both Dayak and Banjar traditional leaders support IKN so they can adapt quickly.
While the second challenge in IKN is the development of areas that are integrated with nature. The North Penajam Paser Authority does not only build infrastructure, but also pays attention to the balance of nature. Do not let there be floods or droughts because of development that is not in harmony with nature.
IKN leaders must also be able to attract many foreign investors because President Jokowi has ordered them. In East Kalimantan, there is indeed a lot of potential besides mining, such as natural exoticism. So later there can be nature reserves or flora and fauna tours that are packaged in a modern way with the help of investors. Of course, taking into account the safety of the flora and fauna there.
Meanwhile, Nirwono Joga, an urban planning observer from Trisakti University stated that the selection of the National Capital Authority from among non-political parties was correct. The reason is, it is very important to minimize political interests in the development of IKN.
In a sense, there should be no political interference that can actually lead to chaos in the development of IKN, because there are contradictions. Party cadres are experienced, but there are many other figures who can lead IKN honestly and independently.
The election of the IKN authority is indeed the prerogative of the president and it is still unknown who will hold the position in Penajam Paser Utara, and the candidates have not even been announced. The public can only guess who will be the authority in IKN, whether former ministers, former regents, or professionals. They waited eagerly.
Whoever will be chosen to be the head of IKN in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, will be well received by the community. Both by all Indonesian citizens and residents of Borneo, they will receive it well. The reason is because everyone believes that President Jokowi will choose the best leader and be able to build relationships, both with native Kalimantan residents and with foreign investors.
