Generational change reduces the political influence of the older generations and makes the millennial generation have the opportunity to change the Indonesian political scene. The Millennial Generation has the opportunity to change Indonesia’s political map by introducing new parties established based on millennial values. However, there is a question that is quite disturbing, how many millennial generations care about the political scene in Indonesia?
I feel that there are indeed many millennial generations who are quite concerned about politics in this country, but I think their numbers are still less than those who are not concerned with political issues. This is certainly very disturbing considering that in the next few years the leadership of this country will be converted to millennial generations.
When the majority of millennials do not care about political problems, their voices will be exploited by irresponsible people who have bad intentions hidden behind the appearance of those who appear neat, polite, and tend to be seen intellectually.
In relation to the 2019 general election which will be held in a month, as one of the Millennials, this is certainly very troubling because I am worried that the 2019 election will be held peacefully and with dignity.
Why does the 2019 election have to run peacefully and with dignity? Election is a five-year event held to continue national leadership for the next five years. When the climate of election is bad I am worried that the sustainability of national leadership in this country will not work well.
That is why I feel that the millennial generation in this country should be politically literate. When they are politically literate, they will not be easily fooled by the sweet words of irresponsible people. Thus the process of national leadership sustainability will be carried out smoothly. For this reason, it is time for millennials to disseminate positive content on social media that fosters national optimism through prayer and hope for the realization of a peaceful and dignified democratic process to ensure the sustainability of national development through the continuation of a dignified national leadership.
